From as far back as I can remember, politicians in our culture have been afforded a “permissible character flaw”, allowing them to lie during their time in office. The mantra goes, well how do you know if a politician is lying to you, his lips are moving. This typically drums up a chuckle or two but with the heightened angry rhetoric generated from the clash between President Trump / AG Barr & the establishment, the need for honesty must now be placed firmly back in the expectations of their job description.
Without going back decades or even centuries, we can see that the progressive left will lie aka, exaggerate, or misspeak, so frequently that very few can keep up with their misgivings. More deep state activity has been exposed, from the treatment of General Flynn, the Russian Hoax, and the bogus impeachment proceedings to name a few.
One would think the US House and Senate Floor speeches, fully documented and video recorded, would be a place where the American citizen could get the truth about issues that interest them. Instead, most of the speeches are made in almost empty chambers and using the old permissions to “exaggerate, misspeak or even outright lie, the representatives & senators push out false narratives in shameful fashion and frequency.
Here is a recent example of intentional lying, with all the facts being easily accessible to anyone who cares about the truth.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) issued a bizarre floor speech in the Senate on Tuesday in which he claimed that the United States “created” the institution of slavery.
“The United States didn’t inherit slavery from anybody. We created it. It got created by the Virginia general assembly and the legislatures of other states. It got created by the court systems in colonial America and since,” Kaine said.
“We created it, and we created it and maintained it over centuries,” he added.

To put it simply, this speech, cloaked in SJW dog whistles, feeds the hunger of the angry anti-white, anti-Trump mob which in return gives the leftists media more fodder for their newsrooms, increasing their audiences which allows them to demand more advertisers cashola.
No the concept and application of slavery did not start in the USA
One can simply do a search and find an unbiased history of thousands of years of recorded history.

For most on the left, dirty politics pays when your audience isn’t concerned about truth.
