President Trump tweeted on Tuesday that he will not watch any sports games where players kneel during the National Anthem.
“Looking forward to live sports, but any time I witness a player kneeling during the National Anthem, a sign of great disrespect for our Country and our Flag, the game is over for me!”

The president was likely referring to the opening of public events post-COVID-19 season.
Trump has been critical of sports players who kneel during the National Anthem, particularly focusing his criticism towards Colin Kaepernick, although Trump did say earlier this year that he would love for Kaepernick to have a second shot at playing again if he was able to.
In one circumstance, Trump tweeted that he asked Vice President Mike Pence to leave a game he was watching if the players kneeled during the anthem.

Last year he blamed NFL ratings on the fact that players weren’t standing for the National Anthem.
Wow, NFL first game ratings are way down over an already really bad last year comparison. Viewership declined 13%, the lowest in over a decade. If the players stood proudly for our Flag and Anthem, and it is all shown on broadcast, maybe ratings could come back? Otherwise worse!

One person replied to Trump’s tweet saying, “when YOU, as President of the UNITED States….STAND UP for ALL Americans…we’ll stand for the national anthem! Until then…[fist emoji] #BlackLivesMatter”

The attempt to roast the president fell short of any follow-through or examples of how the president is not standing up for black Americans.

It is assumed that Coach Butler was referring to black Americans given his #BlackLivesMatter hashtag at the end. Despite numerous black people in Trump’s administration, record unemployment lows for black Americans, and a host of other evidences to the contrary of Trump neglecting the black community, some truths will fall on deaf ears.
