Democrat Joe Biden had a very strange rally on Saturday in Pennsylvania that ended up turning into a rally for Republican Donald Trump when Trump supporters lined the parking lot with Trump signs and flags, cheering for their candidate, even while Biden was leaving the area.
President Donald J. Trump mocked Biden’s rally, from his rally in North Carolina:
“Rowdy scene as Joe Biden speaks at drive-in rally in Bucks County, PA — Trump supporters waving flags and honking during his speech,” MJ Lee, a CNN correspondent wrote about the event. Practically a Trump drive-in rally here now outside the Biden drive-in event. Biden has just finished speaking,” she wrote on Twitter.
FOX News reported, “A parade of people backing President Trump on Saturday crashed Democratic nominee Joe Biden‘s drive-in rally in Bristol, Pa. The former vice president called the band of Trump supporters parked outside his rally “chumps” while addressing the crowd.”
One Participant wrote on Twitter about the event,”Joe Biden at Bristol, PA rally trying to see the invited attendees in their cars. He has a huge buffer zone. A woman wearing blue gloves cleaned the podium between the speakers, but not the hand rail being shared that all touched. Touching masks, pulled on and off. Science?”
“I’m running as a proud Democrat, but I will govern as an American president,” Biden said. “I’ll work as hard for those who don’t support me as those who do, including those chumps with the microphone out there. Look, that’s the job of the president. The duty to care for everyone. The duty to heal.”
Biden continued later: “By the way, we don’t do things like those chumps out there with the microphone and Trump guys. It’s about decency.”
Meanwhile Trump had numerous events on Saturday. Here is some footage of one event:
