A California candidate for US House wants to return power back to the people and is running on a platform to restore the power of local school boards to the time before massive Federal power grabs changed the face of public education and turned out unprepared students.
“It’s so simple; Water, Jobs, and Education,” Republican David Giglio said.
California’s 16th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California, located in the central San Joaquin Valley.
Giglio was recently endorsed by Jorge Mendoza:
I’d like to thank Jorge Mendoza of Madera for endorsing our #FightForTheValley! He too believes in prioritizing funding for water storage, lowering taxes for working families, and providing a better education for our children. Thank you for your support! #CA16 pic.twitter.com/Qxe9sVRCV7

Giglio talked about his campaign and said:
Our nation’s future depends on the job we do raising and educating our children. As a former public-school teacher, I have seen firsthand how our current federal public education policies are failing to adequately prepare our children for life outside the classroom. The answer to fixing American schools should not come from the federal government, but rather local communities, school boards, and state departments of education. You cannot approach education with a one-size fits all philosophy. This is why federal efforts such as No Child Left Behind and Common Core have done little to turn our public schools around. The federal government can and should provide funding for educating, but the decisions on how to utilize that funding should be left to the local and state governments. It is these state and local governments that have a better understanding of the educational needs of their students.
Furthermore, new federal initiatives like Critical Race Theory and the New York Times sponsored 1619 Project, should not be forced upon state and local governments. The federal government should not be in the business of indoctrinating our children with an ideological based curriculum. To tie federal funding to these types of curriculums is wrong. The job of a teacher is to provide students with a wide range of diverse information and opinions so that they can develop their own educated beliefs and attitudes. Classrooms should promote and encourage individual thought and debate rather than stifle it.
FORMER TEACHER
Giglio is a former public school teacher turned small business owner who resides in Madera, California with his wife Linda, a nurse practitioner. After his teaching tenure, he opened a small business where he sells sports collectibles. David believes it has never been more important to stand up against the rise of the radical policies spewing from Democrats in Washington.
According to his campaign website:
His positions are common sense-driven. When elected to Washington, he promises to work tirelessly to ensure that the voices of the people of the Central Valley are finally heard. Unlike many in office, David understands the true meaning of a representative.
He is running as a Republican in California’s 16th Congressional District against Democrat Representative Jim Costa.
Giglio called Costa out for his support of the out-of-control budget proposed by Democrat Joe Biden.
By caving and agreeing to support @JoeBiden’s $3.5 trillion budget, @RepJimCosta once again confirmed he doesn’t have what it takes to resist the radicals in his own party.
In 2022, voters in #CA16 will finally send Pelosi’s “yes man” into retirement.#FightForTheValley pic.twitter.com/PK3JBz5CPX
