Former Congressman, Lt. Col Allen West defeated his TXGOP challenger, who was running for a second time, to win the position of Chairman of the Republican Party for Texas, Monday morning at a tumultuous virtual state convention.
“The fate of the nation may rest on the results coming out of Texas in November. The Republican Party is in good hands as Lt. Col. Allen West will lead the GOP on the quest to Keep Texas Red. Congratulations, Chairman!,” wrote local noqreport media.
Texas is an important battleground state for President Donald J. Trump in the 2020 General Election and West is a national leader and favorite pundit for the Conservative right in the GOP, giving early indications that he will be putting his full weight in the party behind Trump in the most crucial time for the Trump campaign, as well as many other crucial Conservative-Republican candidates to keep the state from “flipping blue”.
I just want to say how truly humbled I am by this honor, and that I will work hard for Texas and Texans.
I would like to thank my amazing and dedicated team, as well as an incredible number of supporters.
Thank you all!
Now the work begins…

Texas has been a target for the far left for at least two elections cycles, facing a softer TX GOP, making a groundswell of victories in local and smaller races.
Conservative Senator Ted Cruz spoke about the tactics of the left that West will no doubt face in the coming months as they do everything they can to discredit and smear West.
“Make no mistake the Democrats and the liberal media will do everything in their power to take Texas. 2 years ago we saw an all-out assault in my race,” Cruz said. “The Democrats doubled their number of voters.”

4 years ago West spoke about some of his ideas for the Republican party,
“We need policy inclusiveness,” West said in 2016, talking about minority populations at the Republican party.
According to Texas Election Source, all 150 members of the Texas House of Representatives, 16 members of the state Senate, is up for re-election in 2020.

Someone with a solid understanding of increasing the support for the party with the Black and Hispanic communities is going to be very valuable to the state party that hopes not to be transformed into a Marxist movement.
