Police in Denver have updated this story as of 10:43 Saturday night, after numerous twists and turns to report that two men are in custody and they are treating this case a homicide and that one man is the security guard of the other man.
Earlier in the night, the Denver Post reported the conflict came from two opposing groups, both meetings Saturday, in Denver, a“Patriot rally” and “BLM-Antifa Soup Drive” and both were planned.
Andy Ngo, an Independent Journalist reported:
A Denver Post staff member witnessed the fatal confrontation. This story was updated after authorities called into question the accuracy of that journalist’s report concerning the affiliation of the shooter.
One person has died and another man, who 9News confirmed was a private security guard contracted by them, is in custody after a shooting during dueling protests Saturday in downtown Denver.
9News reported that one of their employees and a contractor for the television station were taken into custody. It later confirmed the guard was contracted through Pinkerton and “that it has been the practice of 9NEWS for a number of months to hire private security to accompany staff at protests.”
Police initially said two people were taken into custody but later said one of them was not involved in the incident. They tweeted that the suspect was a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa.
The Scene leading up to the shooting:
In this video is seen the man who was shot dead arguing with a man who has on a “Black Guns Matter” shirt, while another man tries to break the fight up, and at one point the two men are separated and the man with the mace walked off screen, while the other man continued to try to pick a fight with other men, a gunshot is heard, and one man stumbles back and later dies.
Gateway Pundit reported:
“A local news reporter and their bodyguard were taken into custody for the fatal shooting of a Trump supporter during dueling rallies in Denver on Saturday.
All initial reports had indicated that it was a conflict between Antifa and conservatives, but the Denver Police has now issued a statement saying that the shooter did not have any ties to the militant leftists.”
The incident occurred after a man participating in what was billed a “Patriot Rally” sprayed mace at another man. That man then shot the other individual with a handgun near the courtyard outside the Denver Art Museum, according to a Denver Post journalist who witnessed the incident..
Some people reported that the gunman had drawn his gun before any mace was sprayed.
Gateway Pundit is reporting that Antifa Cheered the death of a Trump supporter:
Here is another view of the group cheering..
