Republican Governor Ron DeSantis is not backing away from Democrat Joe Biden’s threats or intimidations over public school mask demands. Biden is bribing schools with ‘COVID emergnecy money’ to continue to push mask policies that infringe on people’s rights, and DeSantis has had enough.
“34 days ago, @FLSurgeonGen signed a rule that empowered FL parents, eliminated healthy quarantines & kept healthy kids in school. Now, FL has the lowest COVID rate in the nation, our schools had a 76% decrease in cases since the rule became effective & a 90% decrease since August,” DeSantis posted about the state of Florida and why they don’t need masks.
Politico reported on DeSantis bold measures to fight Biden:
Florida bucks Biden, strips federal aid from mask mandate schools
“I am appalled that the state would penalize the district by pulling funding we have not even received,” said the Alachua County Public Schools superintendent.
This week, the Florida Department of Education stripped local school boards of federal aid money over their masking policy, directly defying the Biden administration, which cautioned the state against the sanctions.
Florida officials yanked the federal grant money for Alachua and Broward counties that were meant to offset penalties for enacting a local mask mandate just one day after the U.S. Department of Education warned that the move would violate requirements in federal law, a clear sign that the state and feds are still at odds over Covid-19 policies.
In August Palm Cost reported on the violations of parent’s rights:
Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran announced Aug. 30 that the Florida Department of Education has withheld the monthly school board member salaries in Alachua and Broward counties, as directed by the State Board of Education. Each district has implemented a mandatory face mask policy that violates parental rights by not allowing a parent or legal guardian to opt-out their child, as required by Florida Department of Health Emergency Rule 64DER21-12. The withholding of funds will continue monthly until each school board complies with state law and rule.
DeSantis spoke recently about his point of view on COVID.
“We’ve gone from 15 days to slow the spread to 3 jabs to keep your job. Florida is taking a stand to protect the Constitution, the economy, and the right of Floridians to earn a living and to make their own individual health decisions,” DeSantis wrote.
At a recent press conference, DeSantis announced that Florida is suing Biden over the overreaching COVID Vaccine mandates.
DeSantis outline his position on Biden’s actions:
1. Your livelihood should not be dependent upon whether you get a COVID shot. This is a personal decision.
2. The Biden Vaccine Mandate is unconstitutional, and we have a responsibility to fight back as a state.
3. Vaccine mandates are bad for the economy.

News 4 in Jackson reported on Thursday:
“The state of Florida on Thursday sued President Joe Biden’s administration over its coronavirus vaccine mandate for federal contractors, opening yet another battleground between Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and the White House.
The lawsuit, announced by DeSantis at a news conference, alleges the president doesn’t have the authority to issue the rule and that it violates procurement law.
DeSantis has vowed legal action over federal vaccination requirements and fought masking and vaccine rules implemented by local governments in Florida. He recently announced he would call state lawmakers to the Capitol next month to pass legislation to combat vaccine mandates enacted by private businesses. DeSantis is eyeing a possible 2024 presidential run and has been consistent in his criticism of Biden’s handling of the pandemic and other issues.
The case was filed in U.S. District Court in Tampa and names Biden, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson as well as White House contracting officials as defendants.”
