President Donald J. Trump promised to reform and restructure the US Government in 2018 and many people have been at war with him over it ever since.  Trump’s Department of Defense (DOD) reforms and changes may be somewhat confusing for Americans while watching unfolding events around the nation’s Capitol for the anticipated Inauguration happen, especially with the large military build-up.

Biden wants the Department of Homeland Security to be in charge:

But that is not going to happen:

HEAD OF DHS RESIGNS

“Among the acting secretary of Homeland Security’s final acts in office was an order on Monday to beef up D.C.’s Inauguration Day security nearly a week earlier than planned. And less than a week after a deadly onslaught at the U.S. Capitol, the building had already begun to assume a high-security posture,” Zenger News reported on Tuesday.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad F. Wolf said Monday in a statement that the show of force, meant to deter any future violence, would grow considerably — and soon.

There was the “hand-off”. Wolf resigned, but who is in charge? Not the Department of Homeland Security.

The Department of Defense should have a growing presence in the minds of Americans as they watch events unfold around the Inauguration:

Reports circulated on social media of an increased military presence on the streets of Washington DC, with armed National Guard, and with it concerns about who is the point of contact, the commander, the center of communication for the coming days, which are expecting see violence.

Outside the Capitol was also packed with soldiers.

Some could be seen unloading a truck of rifles and handguns.

“National Guardsmen and women patrolled the grounds, buffered by a 7-foot fence that Army Secretary Ryan D. McCarthy called “non-scalable.” The guard troops did not appear armed, but U.S. Capitol Police stood guard with high-powered rifles at key points of entry — including the doors rioters forced open last Wednesday,” Zenger reported.

The Left and their media allies say that the military build-up is due to “violent and armed Trump supporters” who are expected to storm the city, with any reason to believe that is actually true, but stem from an event at the US Capitol on Jan 6th.

The DOJ announced this week, in a video, that it had opened more than 170 criminal cases related to the Jan. 6 Capitol demonstrations. Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Michael R. Sherwin said those cases would expand “geometrically,” suggesting a broad dragnet. Charges will range from trespassing to seditious conspiracy and felony murder, Sherwin said at the press conference.

Sherwin had also opened an excessive force case against the man who shot a woman dead at the Capitol, But the Department of Justice is not in charge of the military in the Capitol either.

On Wednesday there were already small dustups with law enforcement and a few groups of Leftist and the DC Police Demonstrators, with no pro-Trump groups or protestors to be found:

The Mayor of DC is known for her encouragement of leftist groups violent protesting around the city and intimidating police and citizens. Many people are wondering if she is in charge of the National Gaurd in DC. No, she is not.

It is unclear what her role will be in the coming days over law enforcement with the military build-up:

Asserting herself, far-left radical Democrat Muriel Bowers has been confusing the public with a number of Executive Actions of her own, confusing people about who is in charge of the law enforcement at the US Capitol and how uprisings will be handled.

“I have instructed the U.S. Secret Service to begin the National Special Security Event operations for the 2021 Inauguration effective Wednesday, January 13th instead of January 19th and at the recommendation of Secret Service Director James Murray, I have instructed the U.S. Secret Service to begin the National Special Security Event operations for the 2021 Inauguration effective Wednesday, January 13th instead of January 19th,” Bower’s note to Wolf, who resigned, was posted on Twitter, apparently attempting to muddy the waters on the chain of command.

Bowser writes to Wolf, but Wolf is gone and the National guard is not under her control.

I strongly urge the United States Department of Homeland Security to adjust its approach to the Inauguration in several specific ways, and have outlined them in the following letter to Acting Secretary Wolf. pic.twitter.com/GaxUWfFbxk

A local reporter posted about the new and strong “law and order” presence on the streets of DC, showing who will be in charge of the street activists, and it doesn’t appear to be Bowser:

The Metro Police for DC has promoted Robert Glover to Commander, and he is not liked by activists.

Commander Robert Glover’s promotion will not be taken kindly by leftist activists in Washington DC.

Along with Lieutenant Jason Bagshaw, he is considered a sort of archrival among DC protesters.

So who is in charge of the National Guard in DC?

The Acting Secretary of Defense, Christopher Miller is in charge. In the following recent video, Miller is seen walking among the troops giving them service coins as a moral boost.

Curioulsy, the US Joint Chiefs of Staff wrote a letter and asserted their dominance in decision making, and it is unclear what role they will play, if any, they are not in charge of the National Gaurd in DC:

The chiefs wrote in the letter that the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol was an attack on the Constitutional process. They declared in the memo that servicemembers swear an oath to “support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.”

John Solomon, for Just The News, reported on the memo and said that it was not well received by one Marine Coprs sergeant:

“We’re not sure why that went out,” an aide to one service secretary told Just the News. “Ours is a highly trained, professional force. They don’t need to be reminded of basic fundamentals.”

“We already know this stuff,” one Marine Corps sergeant said. “People in my unit were saying, this must be a joke. If it’s not a joke, it’s an insult.”
