After a complete breakdown of all rational protection on the Capitol on January 6th, “powers that be” in Washington DC, during a very confusing time, built up a wartime perimeter the likes we have never seen inside of the United States.
At the time, it was almost impossible to figure out who was building up the war-like presence in DC, and who was benefiting from it and who the government was worried about protecting. Rumors and speculation built, reporters had to rely on crumbs of information to help inform the public, as no one was answering any questions about the purpose for the military build-up in our Nation’s Capitol.
Speculation was wild, especially since there had been no concern about the grounds for the 6th when over 1 million angry people were expected to participate in rallies and protests.
On January 6th, as captured by plenty of other activists and me, law enforcement on the grounds of the Capitol was very lax, including leaving two heavy rigs on the grounds, with the keys in the ignition, which people used undeterred for over 6 hours.
A real pitchfork. The police allowed a man to walk freely around the US Capitol Hill grounds, undeterred with a pitch fork. The man told me the police saw him and said nothing at all to him.
I reported on those things and was confirmed by another poster:
Before the stairs were filled up, people were walking in an orderly fashion thinking they were being allowed to take a tour of the Capitol.
A man with a pitchfork said he had spoken to police and no one was worried, at least 2 hours after there were reports of someone being shot. pic.twitter.com/fLRvtXJvl1

I saw the guys who broke in Before they got in.. and people who went in after the break in and stopped an antifa type from breaking windows. I got people who took video- so I know they were in there. IF they are so worried about violence why is there a huge lift? With keys in? pic.twitter.com/mpzhyIJzRe

Around the grounds were large pallets of chairs, as if they were setting up for the inauguration, and just quickly left the scene to take a cigarette break, and left the grounds full of heavy equipment, projectiles and access to the Capitol building.
These guys were at the Capitol when Trump suppprters were coming over- and they were drinking beer and screaming F The police.. How did they get up there? pic.twitter.com/dIKrWjOUhx

To many people, it felt as if someone had intentionally left out projectiles, heavy machines, scaffolding to climb upon, and open doors to grounds before January 6th.
Then after the 6th, DC was locked down, after all the people left.
Almost 7 months later, the fog is starting to clear about what that military presence was all about; according to one Republican lawmaker, it was about political theater. A political narrative. For Fake News.
The Recount reported on a recent interview with Republican Mike Turner, who spoke about what many people refer to as “Camp Nancy,” as a jab at radical leftist Democrat Nancy Pelosi, who is speaker of the US House:
“National Guard is calling for $521M reimbursement for its four-month response to the Jan. 6 insurrection. Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH): “Obviously, I think it’s been very troubling…as we watch the National Guard here at the Capitol being used as props and for political purposes.”

Reporting that the National Gaurd needed to be reimbursed 521 Million dollars for those 4 months of service.
“It is troubling for the American public and Congress to watch The National Gaurd was being used as props for political purposes. We had the situation on January 6th the Capitol was not adequately protected and then of course we had two fences, the coordining off and the National Gaurd here in numbers that were obviously necessary, in place, and used for political purposes,” Turner said.
The BL. TV reported on the request for reimbursement:
“The National Guard will have to cancel their exercises and training in the next couple of months if they are not reimbursed a half-billion dollars for their finished mission of protecting the U.S. Capitol.
This week, the National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Daniel Hokanson said that their members were deployed to surround the Capitol compound for more than five months, began after the Jan. 6 riots, and ended at midnight Sunday, June 20.
The general said the mission costs the National Guard $521 million, which has emptied their coffers, adding that the Guard will have to cancel their planned training and exercises in the final two months of the year without reimbursement.
“It’s critical for us to get it this year because the funding will be required for us to complete not only our drills but all operations and training we have scheduled,” Hokanson told Pentagon reporters, the Washington Examiner reported.
“It will have a very significant impact on National Guard readiness,” the general said.
Last year, the National Guard deployed their members, for more than 21 million service days, to respond to domestic and overseas missions, such as hurricane relief, fighting wildfires, COVID-19 response, protecting cities from the George Floyd protests. The largest and most expensive, however, was the mission to protect the Capitol.
At the peak of their task, the National Guard deployed 26,000 service members from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia to the nation’s capital.”
So Nancy’s plot may have been for political theater and also to bankrupt the National Gaurd? Who knows. DC still doesn’t answer questions about anything they are doing.
