News outlets and pundits are heady with the virtue of being seen as “not racist” for carrying the messaging of the Black Lives Matter movement as if all Black Americans agree with the group’s agenda for transforming America.
At the heart of the current cultural revolution is the removal of federally supported historic statues, including a small statue of Abraham Lincoln and a former slave, which was relatively overlooked until recently, in Lincoln Park, in a quiet neighborhood in Washington DC.
At odds with the Lincoln monument to the emancipation of slaves, is the Black Lives Movement, aided by a liberal Mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser, who is deeply at odds with President Donald J. Trump, and who together claim the statue shows a slave kneeling, therefore they want the monument removed.
Bowers has been busy for months providing cover to BLM for their acts of aggression against President Donald . Trump and the White House administration, allowing for open rebellion against law and order in the neighborhoods in the surrounding area.
The monument was the site of violent protests earlier in July, where participants included members of the groups Antifa and BLM.
On Tuesday, Star Parker, of Urban Cure, held a rally to give the history of the statue and to make a plea to save the monument, which she emphasized was paid for by former slaves, and she reminded people is showing a former slave, Archer Alexander, standing up and “breaking his chains”.
“This country was founded on the rule of law, and if [this] statue should come down, then it is up to the local governments and local city councils and local mayors to make that determination,” Parker told the audience.
“He is standing up to claim his freedom. This statue is a depiction of Archer on his last day of freedom standing up, and I want people to know that history. The history of this monument includes the stories of slaves who gathered their money together to pay for this tribute to former President Abraham Lincoln. They wanted to thank him. This was fully funded by slaves. One former slave gave $5.00. Do you know how she would have had to save that money? So I say how dare people want to take it down,” Parker told DJHJ Media.

“Saving this monument could be so unifying if people understood history. Urban Care will be following up on saving this monument because it is important work. Look at the great networking and conversations that have been started over this one statue. Isn’t that what we should be doing more of as a country?” Parker said.
Speeches were given by numerous high profile Black Activists, an art historian, a Pastor, and enjoyed by a crowd of about 200 people, some who came from North Carolina and Missouri, just to speak or attend the event.
Parker is starting a national petition drive to gather names and introduce a Bill to Congress to prevent the statue from being destroyed.
“I just need people to Text the word Cure to 33777 to help us save this important monument,” Parker told the audience.
