On AUG 9th, the US Government filed a motion for another extension in the trial of Couy Griffin a commissioner in New Mexico and a high-profile social media influencer who is the founder of Cowboys for Trump.
Griffin, who has the right as an American citizen to a speedy trial, is being pressured to take a plea deal with the government while his trial gets postponed over and over again, and those actions are alarming judicial watchers who see a shocking display of government corruption.
“I think the Government has a Bluff hand,” Griffin, who was arrested in DC on Jan 6th, told me.
The government’s admission that it was withholding evidence from Couy’s defense went viral last week.
Couy was arrested for non-violent actions on Jan. 6th when he was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing for entering the stairs of the US Capitol and for leading people in prayer, at the time, with a Bullhorn. He was imprisoned for three weeks in a DC prison. The lawsuit against him has been dragging out since then. I caught up with Couy on Tuesday to get an update on his situation.
“One thing that has been very difficult for me is that I’m going thru this recall right now. With my right to due process being denied, those who are recalling me are using this charge against me without having my day in court. I believe the only reason the government is stalling is that they don’t want to go to trial. The reason being is because we will petition for exculpatory evidence, which will prove what happened on that day. It has been very unjust. And I am now being punished for a crime in which I have not been convicted for,” Griffin said.
“I didn’t do anything wrong; so I am not going to raise the white flag, I feel like the government has a buff hand, and we want to see that exculpatory evidence. We have heard there is a lot of video and other evidence that the government won’t let us see. I feel like I am being denied my due process because I am being tried and convicted without a chance to have my say,” Griffin said.
The US Government did admit they have evidence that could prove Griffin was innocent.
I covered that story.

But Griffin, like the other Jan. 6th defendants, are facing a slanted media who refuse to address the Government’s corrupt actions.
MEDIA SHOW TRIALS AND COURTS OF PUBLIC OPINION
One of the ways Griffin is being persecuted is by a recall effort in his local area. There is a Facebook group that has started a recall effort.
“They have billboards up, and huge stickers on the sides of cars to adversite this recall. It gives them the excuse to post all over social media that I am guilty of these crimes,” Griffin told me, describing what sounds like a Maoist shame and harassment campaign.
Here is the recall effort.
“The Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats, perhaps worse, because the ones standing next to you are the first ones to hit you. I think I represent a political ideology different from the Republicans and Democrats, and they want to see me damaged politically and out of their way,” Griffin said.
Consider this Jan 2020 statement by the Republican Party as it was reported by local media:
The Republican Party of New Mexico released a statement by Party Chairman Steve Pearce distancing themselves from Republican Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin and his organization Cowboys for Trump last week.
“Mr. Griffin does not represent the Republican Party of New Mexico nor does he speak for the party. RPNM does not endorse or condone the statements made by Cowboys for Trump Founder Couy Griffin,” Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce said.
“RPNM condemns violence and any threats of violence against any person or group. What happened in Washington was wrong and was a stain on our great democracy.”
TRIAL BY MEDIA- THIS IS NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN IN AMERICA
“There is a reason for a speedy trial,” Griffin said.
At least one judicial watcher is furious and made a video breaking down the details of Griffin’s case.
“Prosecutors file a request for ANOTHER continuance in a Capitol Hill defendant case, in U.S. vs Cuoy Griffin, citing ongoing discovery problems,” wrote attorney Robert Gruler on his show Wating the Watchers.
“Great legal opinion on my case,” Griffin told me about the video when he sent it to me.
Info about Couy starts at 5:19:
Gruler reported:
Capitol Hill defents are still being held, that is a due prcess violation that is pernicious. Couy Griffin, founder of Cowboys for Trump. I don’t care about who he is or what happened, because what is revleatva is what the government is doing to this man.
The US Motion to continue, is an extension, and the lawers are asking for more time, and to excluse time under the speedy trial framework.
The 6th aned al criminal prosceuop the ascuuced shall have a speely and public trial, without uncessary delay. It is in the first sentence, because we dno not want a tyrcallinca goverment to change people wih crimes and let them flaot around indefniaenly.
