In a series of posts on Twitter today, a reporter posted details from a briefing with the campaign of Democrat Joe Biden that raised interest with readers, because it appears as if the Democrats are ready to take their focus off of two states that voters had been conditioned for weeks would be very important to either side’s victory.
Recalling Nate Silver’s very recent comments on Florida and Pennsylvania, one reader reacted to the post and wrote,”Similar to Nate Silver of 538 with Joe’s 87 percent chance this morning now backtracking “if Trump wins Florida, NC and GA, he has a 50 percent chance of being reelected”.
Silver is the Democrats iconic pollster, pundit and editor and he seems to be saying that Florida is getting complex and he is making strange comments about Independents and Republicans voting for Trump, when there is no evidence that is happening at all.
With approval rates of over 95% of approval for Trump in Republicans, this is an odd statement.
Tuesday afternoon, the Biden campaign is saying it is no biggie to lose these two. Something has changed.
One pollster said, “Joe Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon remarked that Biden still has a pathway to victory even if he loses Pennsylvania and Florida, leading some to suggest this shows doubts are emerging over the Democrat’s chances in these crucial states.”
This led some commentators to speculate that early voting data in the two crucial swing states may be disappointing for Team Biden.
“Wow! Joe Biden’s campaign manager is admitting they have doubts about Pennsylvania!” commented Harlan Hill.
This poll is impacting them as well:
“In Biden campaign briefing, advisor Bob Bauer notes that so far polls are up and running without major delays, and that very few ballots have been rejected (FL: 0.3%, WI: 0.1%, NC: 0/6%) Says R predictions of mass election day chaos and fraud have not occurred,”Charlotte Alter reported on Twitter.
“Bauer on election lawsuits: “the courts recognize these last-minute hijinx for what it is… they’re designed to generate the appearance of a cloud over the election, they are not in fact bonafide legal claims against voters,” she wrote.
They have many “pathways” they said.
Summit News reported and validated this interesting find and added the pathway to not conceding to their timeline, “Joe Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon remarked that Biden still has a pathway to victory even if he loses Pennsylvania and Florida, leading some to suggest this shows doubts are emerging over the Democrat’s chances in these crucial states.“
The Biden campaign has already asserted that “under no scenario” will it allow Trump to claim victory tonight.
The former Vice President is also planning to address the nation and “assert control” as the president-elect if he is declared winner by news organizations, even if President Trump refuses to concede.
As we previously highlighted, pro-Biden analytics firm Hawkfish previously asserted that it’s likely President Trump will appear to have won in a landslide on election night but may lose after mail in ballots are counted, which “will take days if not weeks to tally.”
