A Democrat North Carolina state representative has a money-making side hustle selling coaching services to North Carolina schools to train them how to implement the new and crazy methods of instruction called “Critical Race Theory.
An “equity coaching” organization co-founded by a North Carolina state representative was scheduled to offer professional development training on the controversial Critical Race Theory to Wake County Public School teachers and staff.
The Equity Collaborative website says it is a “national consulting firm,” and its goal is to “help organizations develop their own capacity to create educational equity and social justice by addressing bias and oppression.”The course, which was titled “Intro to Critical Race Theory,” was to be conducted by a member of the Equity Collaborative, an organization co-founded and run by state Rep. Graig Meyer (D-Orange).
WCPSS supplied North State Journal with the request for proposal and Equity Collaborative’s response, as well as $97,000 in invoices and $207,500 worth of service contracts that had purchase orders attached.
The service contracts include various professional-development coaching sessions at a rate of $1,500 per person, job-embedded coaching sessions at $2,500 a day, and a two-day “Racial Equity Institute” priced at $9,000 a day. One agreement, dated Feb. 3, 2020, was for a speaker to give a “National School Counseling Presentation.”
BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE ABUSE
In one of my recent articles on Culturally Responsive Training, which is Critical Race Theory with a slightly different name to keep people on their toes, in North Carolina with the same Wake County Equity Department, I pointed out that the training was gaslighting teachers and teaching them to gaslight children. The PTA was gaslighting parents through a series of highly powerful shaming techniques.
I was affirmed by a reader who wrote:
“As a training developer I can attest to the deceptive quality of the examples shown. I can only hope that the teachers in this training are themselves adept enough at instruction techniques to recognize the deeply manipulative processes being used,” Beth Rickert wrote in response to the following article:
And that is exactly what they are doing, making people crazy. Consider from this lawmakers website; they plainly spell it out, they are using neuroscience to rewire people’s thinking:
Our goal is to help organizations develop their own capacity from within—the capacity to create educational equity, to further social justice, and to stand up to bias and oppression. This requires solutions beyond the technical approaches of implementing policies and “best” practices.
Frameworks don’t change anything. On the contrary, it’s people who change things. In fact, they can change everything. That said, we do use a simple framework to help clients understand how we approach our work. No matter what the project is, we root our approach in the following:
- Equity and Fighting Oppression: We set goals and measure progress toward building more equitable learning environments and interrupting inequities.
- Culturally Responsive Learning Theory: We use neuroscience and culturally sustaining approaches to help adult brains grow and change so that they can get better at helping people learn.
- Coaching and Facilitation: We support individuals and teams to develop new practices that help them move toward their equity goals.
What comes to mind reading that? Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous system. It is a multidisciplinary science that combines physiology, anatomy, molecular biology, developmental biology, cytology, computer science and mathematical modeling to understand the fundamental and emergent properties of neurons and neural circuits.
So the theory of Critical Race Theory makes total chaos out of a learning and teaching environment by assuming that each child’s ethnic heritage, including the sexual preferences of each family member. And that all students other than American students must be held up, examine and worshiped, on class time., while American students must be harmed and marginalized.
CRT demands that each teacher must be well versed in each of the many different cultures and sexualities. It also requires each know understand the ethnic makeup of each of their students and therefore demands that they in fact as racists.
Let’s disect the mumbo jumbo above. What are “culturally sustaining approaches”?

Culturally Sustaining/Revitalizing Pedagogy is a promising practice in utilizing Native culture and language to positively impact Native learners’ achievement. Deeply embedded in these practices is the teaching of Native languages in order to allow students to deeply connect with their cultural communities.
So, if the “native culture” is American, then they are just to be discounted as less important and reprogrammed through neuroscience. That is what American taxpayers are paying for, and what one North Carolina government public servant has as his side hustle, getting paid to force upon the government at taxpayer expense, a way of rewiring children.
