At this point, people are aware of the problems of having a leftist political body monitoring information and news. Yet, due to the influence of leftism at the highest levels of social media, one powerful media system called ‘PolitiFact’ gets to slander and defame people at will and never faces the consequences when they are found to be lying.
“PolitiFact added an editor’s note Monday retracting the “pants on fire” claim,” reported Just the News, on Saturday.
Nicholas Sherman for Just The News wrote in his article: PolitiFact removes 2020 report stating theory that COVID leaked for Wuhan lab ‘debunked conspiracy’ PolitiFact added an editor’s note Monday retracting the “pants on fire” claim.:
PolitiFact, a Pulitzer Prize-winning fact check group, has retracted a September 2020 report calling a Hong Kong virologist’s analysis that COVID-19 originated in a lab a “debunked conspiracy theory.”
“The claim is inaccurate and ridiculous,” the original fact check reads, according to The Epoch Times. “We rate it Pants on Fire!”
An editor’s note Monday said the group has removed but archived the original statement.
“When this fact-check was first published … PolitiFact’s sources included researchers who asserted the SARS-CoV-2 virus could not have been manipulated. That assertion is now more widely disputed. For that reason, we are removing this fact-check from our database pending a more thorough review. Currently, we consider the claim to be unsupported by evidence and in dispute.”
Some of the new evidence is included in a report by Republicans on the Democrat-controlled House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence that points to a possible leak in the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.
Dr. Li-Meng YAN is the original author of the research about COVID being a leak from the Wihan Institute of Virology in China.
The news that PolitiFact was wrong was compelling content and was covered by numerous shows on Friday, including Tucker Carlson, who interviewed YAN:
#COVID19 virus was instead enhanced during lab experiments — reckless, ghoulish, very dangerous experiments, that were paid for in part by American taxpayers…Even Politifact has retracted its claim that Dr. Yan is a "pants on fire" liar.#CCPLiePeopleDiehttps://t.co/tmhOlLj8Gq

WHAT IS POLITIFACT TRYING TO COVER UP?
Perhaps the origins of the mess?
From the Transcript of Carlson’s show:
One of the first questions rational people asked, and there are some rational people still out there, after the coronavirus arrived in the United States last year, was simple: where did this disease come from?
Finding out was more than a matter of simple curiosity. It was an urgent public health imperative. If you want to prevent the next disaster, you have to determine how the current one happened. That’s why we have an NTSB. If we didn’t investigate plane crashes very carefully, planes would keep crashing, and you would never fly. So as this virus spread around the world, the rest of us waited for some credible public health authority — the CDC, the WHO, anyone — to come forward with details on where it came from. But no one ever did come forward.
Instead, they told us what was, in retrospect, a completely ridiculous story. They said a seafood market in central China was, for reasons that no one ever explained, selling exotic mammals like pangolins, which somehow became a vector for infection. So the Chinese eat weird food; that’s why the world is sick. That’s what they told us. In China, they knew that wasn’t true. They knew it very early. On February 6, 2020, right at the very beginning, scientists from the South China University of Technology uploaded a paper on the origins of the coronavirus onto the internet. They had a very different view of what happened.

A visit to YAN’s Twitter timeline is interesting because PolitiFact scolded her and then had to admit they were wrong, which makes this research all the more important :
