In a direct affront to the power of the State government to represent voters, the leader of a Marxist teacher’s union stood in front of the NC Legislative building in defiance. They demanded that no matter what the concerns of the parents or citizens of North Carolina are, and no matter what voters thought about it, she and her group of teacher- civil servants would do what they pleased and teach what they wanted to teach.
KEY POINT: At the same time, the far-left radical teachers are flexing their activist muscles for the public, making demands for a personal political agenda, they are demanding another hefty raise.
North Carolina teachers union will resist the laws:

“NCAE president vows to teach Critical Race Theory ‘even if illegal,’ in her article for North State Journal about a teacher in North Carolina who had pledged to continue teaching based on Critical Race Theory ideology, no matter what the NC legislature passed into law about the matter.
“North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) president Tamika Walker Kelly is one of over 4,200 signers of a pledge to “refuse to lie to young people about U.S. history and current events — regardless of the law.”
The pledge is backed by the Zinn Education Project, named after the controversial academic and avowed socialist, Howard Zinn, whose book A People’s History of the United States has been largely debunked by historians,” Dillon wrote.
NCAE, according to their bio: ‘ is the state’s largest education advocacy organization for public school employees, and represents active, retired, and student members”, and they are advocates for Democrats, for Planned Parenthood, and other far-left radical groups.
Recently, Kelly made an appearance and made demands for teacher-focused funding, more opportunities and benefits for teachers, and more taxpayer money to go into their political action coffers for Democrats.

They want more money and benefits for themselves from the public trust, even as they proudly insist they will not follow the laws we set or address the concerns we have for our children.
The “teacher of the year” demands more money around the board; even while scores are in free fall, the public is turning to charter schools and homeschooling more. They are raising major concerns in public with what appears to be highly racist training that will harm students.

Bottom line: Critical Race Theory is very controversial and divisive. Why should taxpayers pay teachers more for pushing their personal agenda? “North Carolina received a C- grade and a score of 72 out of a possible 100 in the 2019 Quality Counts report released this week by Education Week. The report ranks North Carolina 37th out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.”
Down The Rabbit Hole:
PRESENTED BY THE JOHN SEIGENTHALER CHAIR OF EXCELLENCE IN FIRST AMENDMENT STUDIES
“Critical race theory (CRT) is a movement that challenges the ability of conventional legal strategies to deliver social and economic justice and specifically calls for legal approaches that take into consideration race as a nexus of American life.
The movement champions many of the same concerns as the civil rights movement but places those concerns within a broader economic and historical context. It often elevates the equality principles of the Fourteenth Amendment above the liberty principles of the First Amendment.”
