After reading what appeared to be propaganda by CNN in an article about ‘armed protests for Trump supporters,’ I reached out to the National Press Office for the FBI to determine if they could help me locate the internal memo or bulletin that CNN was sourcing.
Numerous media outlets circulated the gossip that the Trump supporters were planning on storming Capitols in all 50 states for a gun rally or a political rally to support President Donald J. Trump on Inauguration Day.
Here is the article:
The FBI has received information indicating "armed protests" are being planned at all 50 state capitols and the US Capitol in the days leading up to President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20, according to an internal bulletin obtained by CNN https://t.co/Ow6Bm6gGtR

Notice there are no names or sources to validate the claims that CNN has made.
I contacted the FBI, gave them my media credentials and asked them to give me all available information to help inform the public about safety concerns, so they could avoid dangerous areas and avoid being caught in an unlawful gathering and asked them about CNN’s claims, and this is what I got back from the National Press Office of the FBI:
“While our standard practice is to not comment on specific intelligence products, the FBI is supporting our state, local, and federal law enforcement partners with maintaining public safety in the communities we serve. Our efforts are focused on identifying, investigating, and disrupting individuals that are inciting violence and engaging in criminal activity. As we do in the normal business course, we are gathering information to identify any potential threats and are sharing that information with our partners. The FBI respects the rights of individuals to exercise their First Amendment rights peacefully. Our focus is not on peaceful protesters, but on those threatening their safety and the safety of other citizens with violence and destruction of property.”
“We cannot speak to what other outlets are “alluding to.” However, we can offer you what the FBI is providing to the media at this time. When we can share more publicly, we will,” the FBI told me.
So, apparently, if CNN got any inside information, it is a leak and not public information. Nevertheless, numerous pundits and posters are urging people to avoid political gatherings at this time.
This is when it seems natural to want to gather and show support for President Trump for our movement and our country; however; I join others to ask people to stay home.
I am staying at home for the next month at least and attending no rallies or gatherings.
Please be aware that people with an agenda may have infiltrated the Capitol events to make Trump supporters look bad, as many eyewitnesses, including me, suspect. The tactics that I saw that day swept people into what appeared to be staged violence. Those details are being investigated, as announced today by the FBI and DOJ.
It is important to recognize that at this time, the best thing we can do to support President Trump is to avoid areas where law enforcement needs space to do their jobs.
Please do not attend any gatherings in your state or DC for the next few weeks until we know things are under control.
As a reporter and photographer, I totally understand wanting to see the story and investigate, but this time is the right time to sit on the sidelines.
Tell others and be safe.
