A conflict is brewing over Critical Race Theory, and it is in its early stages. Still, we have been here before with other grassroots movements, so hopefully, people are paying attention not to get swept up in the drama.
I have written about the perils of Marxism in the schools and tried to be quite reasonable about what I think will be a disastrous set of ideologies on young minds. I have been watching the schools get to this point for over 20 years.
What I have not done is hang out my shingle, collect money from scared parents, and drive them to me with published exaggerations of what CRT really is all about or who to blame for it. I am noticing again that where other people see a profit from fear, I see a duty to serve Americans.
Many grassroots activists and parents around the country understand the distinction I am making there. What I seek is a lasting change and an empowered America.
Concerns of everyday Americans and real grassroots activists are ignited right now over what they see as an erosion of their civil liberties. That is like a neon sign flashing on and off screaming: FREE MONEY FOR THE TAKING.
As a former Community Organizer and someone who has studied activist groups and politics for decades, I am immediately aware of leftist tactics for organizing and dirty politics.
The power of the collective concern over CRT is coming into focus. With that, oddly- voices of concern are actually getting buried with the rise of the corporate Activist Pac. Often those corporate activists’ financial Pacs are about getting clicks and gathering up hurt people with outrageous claims and setting a false narrative that they are going to help. It is a sort of Stockholm syndrome situation.
And those groups cause great infighting and division in communities because while the corporate activist says the right things and appears to have power and wealth, their scripted speeches are often nothing more than screenplays on making themselves some money.
Activists groups are the wild, wild west of politics and activist media. There is no oversight at all, and the stakes are vicious for “activist” watchdogs, who try to shield the innocent public from the dark underbelly of media and politics.
That is not a place where the American dream is alive and well, trust me.
The media often loves the activist pacs, thereby promoting them, because it is good political theater and gets attention, so it is not welcome to point out that the corporate activists are often just pied pipers, leading a hurting nation into the mud. Not all corporate grassroots activists are bad, but many of them hurt the cause they say they want to help, and they destroy Americans’ hope in our system.
Look no further than the Tea Party for a recent example of how cults of personality and opportunists held back authentic grassroots activism, and dissolved into a mess, and actually stopped the progress.
Yes, they did great things too, but the fame seekers and profiteers, in the end, destroyed so much good will and ended the movement, leaving many people jaded and burnt out.
Then it was Obamacare, and today’s issue is CRT. Critical Race theory, there is a lot of money to be made off of selling outrage porn. It is a lucrative business.
For the dangers of Critical Race Theory, there are no easy or quick solutions. We didn’t get into a mess in public education overnight. We won’t get out of it overnight either. Nor should we. What we are seeing is decades of blind trust in Institutions where people blew through decades of warning signs about what we were headed towards.
We could learn from that and fix it, but that would mean addressing those issues. Instead, people are focused on the latest mom crying at a school board meeting. Sure there is some good to that; it is good political theater, it might help wake some people up to the problems, but we can not just focus on that and believe the problem will go away.
There are groups making large profits from selling legal services, opportunities to become a celebrity, and getting their crying video into the media, which preys upon hurting people. It also scares legislators into getting involved with activists and is many times counterproductive altogether.
Remember some of the big activist groups are selling goods and services, so they are competitive with the small grassroots activist who wants to get a big coalition together to influence lawmakers.
The two groups are not on the same planet many times.
Many of these sort of “shock jocks” have people focused on “one bill” that will ban CRT. And they create a lot of energy, interests, and fundraising pushing this “one bill” fix. Just ban CRT. Well, in the real world, it isn’t that simple.
There is no “one bill” that can fix the troubles we have. I call that “One Bill” idea a money-making scheme. What can help protect children is that every citizen safeguards their liberty and their children’s liberty, all of the time, everywhere.
Take your children out of schools if you disagree with what is happening, and be prepared for a somewhat long battle over CRT. Join activist groups who are not collecting money for themselves and petition your government. The left has been in charge of the schools for a long time. It is a long road to change that, but that is our system.
In the meantime, you are an American citizen. Exercise your rights. You do have choices already.

Our citizenship in America is valuable; it was always meant to be guarded well with lots of effort. Hopefully, people will do that and stay out of the Dark Underbelly of US Activism.
The American dream is beautiful and worth the effort to do so.
