Nashville, TN Mayor John Cooper accused of hiding extremely low Coronavirus Numbers in bars after health experts released real numbers, keeping people unemployed in the area, it is shown in a series of leaked emails between himself and Health Department Officials.
“Today, I sent a letter to Nashville Mayor John Cooper demanding answers regarding the decision to conceal crucial COVID data from the public,” US Rep. Mark Green said.
“He is the Deblasio of the South, and this story is about small-time politicians who have the power to keep us shuttered in pace, the mayor of Nashville kept data under wraps, the emails shows. They want to keep us locked down, and we saw it in Michigan too, so there is a pattern here. The American people know the thread and what do about it, and there is something wrong with politicians keeping us locked down,” Judge Jeanine Pirro, host of Justice with Jeanine said Friday on Fox and Friends.
The New York Post reported on the emails at the center of this cotroversary:
“The mayor of Nashville and his health department have been accused of withholding data about the low number of COVID-19 cases linked to bars and restaurants in the city — all while placing strict restrictions on the venues.
Internal emails published by FOX-affiliate WZTV purportedly show top officials in the Tennessee city discussing the low figure and whether certain data should be made public.
In a June 29 email correspondence, Benjamin Eagles, the senior advisor to Nashville Mayor John Cooper asks Metro Nashville Health Department epidemiologist Leslie Waller for countywide contact tracing data over the last 14 days.
“Looking to see what sort of activity has been most related to new cases,” Eagles wrote, according to the email.
Waller, in response, asked for time to pull the data together before writing, “This isn’t going to be publicly released, right? Just info for Mayor’s Office?”
“Correct, not for public consumption,” Eagles replied, according to the report.
A month later, a local reporter asked the health department about a claim that there are only 80 coronavirus cases traced to bars and restaurants.
“The figure you gave of ‘more than 80’ does lead to a natural question: If there have been over 20,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in Davidson and only 80 or so are traced to restaurants and bars, doesn’t that mean restaurants and bars aren’t a very big problem?” Tennessee Lookout reporter Nate Rau asked, according to WZTV.
Health department official Brian Todd then asked five health department officials, “Please advise how you recommend I respond,” according to the news outlet.
One of the officials whose name was cut off replied, “My two cents. We have certainly refused to give counts per bar because those numbers are low per site,” the report said.
ALL ABOUT THE ELECTION?
MSNBC White House Correspondent reported,” “Trump has warned his Twitter followers six times as often about the threat from mail-in ballots as he has urged them to protect themselves from the threat of Covid-19.”
So the question is why would civil servants, like the Nashville Mayor, being using their offices to shut down the areas they were elected to protect and defend, without any reason to do so?
The Mayor responded in a statement saying that they are of course not keeping data, and he mocked the concerns of people, were “breathless”.
REPUBLICANS WANT ANSWERS
“This is about the election. they want to use this to steal the election. This lock down is political so the Democrats can push these various other ways of voting that help them in an election they may not win,” Pirro said.

Pirro is not alone in her concerns. The Governor of Tennessee is not happy.
Governor Bill Lee wrote to Nashville MayorJohn Cooper today, criticizing his management of federal covid relief funds while having “some of the most restrictive limitations on commercial activity.
