The New York Times escalated their attacks on US House member Republican Matt Gaetz from Florida, and Twitter was eager to escalate their story and make it trending news. And once again, the story was fake, according to President Donald J. Trump.
“Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America. Congressman Matt Gaetz has never asked me for a pardon. It must also be remembered that he has totally denied the accusations against him,” the statement read.
SOME SOURCE SAID SOMETHING- HERE IS A REPORT
Tuesday, the New York Times published a story that was immediately trending on Twitter and continued to trend for the next 24 hours, claiming that Gaetz had sought a blanket pardon along with some other Congressmen and that President Trump had declined to help him.
The New York Story illustrates an Axios article from Jan. 2021, which clearly shows the public does not trust the media.
AXIOS SHOWS PEOPLE DON’T TRUST THE MEDIA
“Trust in traditional media has declined to an all-time low, and many news professionals are determined to do something about it.
Why it matters: Faith in society’s central institutions, especially in government and the media, is the glue that holds society together. That glue was visibly dissolving a decade ago and has now, for many millions of Americans, disappeared entirely.
By the numbers: For the first time ever, fewer than half of all Americans have trust in traditional media, according to data from Edelman’s annual trust barometer shared exclusively with Axios. Trust in social media has hit an all-time low of 27%.
- 56% of Americans agree with the statement that “Journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations”
LOOK WHAT THE NEW YORK TIMES DID
The Grassroots marketing machinery of the left jumped into swift action to spread Tuesday’s NYT story all over social media, and many professional media and government people jumped on it to add their commentary that Gaetz was guilty, without any source or any vetting of the story.

For savvy consumers of media, it was obvious that the New York Times was using one of their favored propaganda tactics of claiming some source because they are exploiting the idea that the media can say anything they want even when they know it is an outright lie.
Currently, the New York Times and other allied Democrat media and intelligence leaders are out in the open with their public attacks on Gaetz, even admitting that they are only spreading rumors around about Gaetz.

Seriously @mattgaetz, why did you beg for a pardon from your messiah Trump if you’re innocent?

Correct. When Pres Ford offered pardon to Nixon, he made sure Nixon saw that SCOTUS opinion before deciding to accept it. Gaetz wouldn't need a pardon if he had done no crime. https://t.co/7lGvQ7mzlW

Hopefully, the American people are confident knowing that so many people will use their position of authority and power in media, and the government will use their media partners to promote outright lies to attempt to shape public opinion to help keep them in political power.
