President Donald J. Trump tweeted on Monday about the numerous problems with the Ballot Harvesting and mail in Ballot problems that are beging to emerge for the November 3rd Presidential election, and Twitter added content to his tweet, discrediting his statement,
“The Ballots being returned to States cannot be accurately counted. Many things are already going very wrong!” Trump’s Tweet read.
And the link Twitter added went to an article from The Hill, “US elections·September 18, 2020 Voting by mail is legal and safe, experts and data confirm with the 2020 US general election approaching on November 3, experts and fact-checkers have continued to assure American voters that voting by mail is a safe and secure option, especially in the middle of a pandemic. Deadlines and rules vary from state to state, so it is important that voters check with their state and county about how to properly vote by mail if this is the voting method they choose, experts say.”
Twitter then wrote what they wanted people to know:
“What you need to know– Claims that mail-in voting leads to fraud are unsubstantiated, according to ABC and other national outlets – Voter fraud of any kind is exceedingly rare in the US, including in states that have allowed mail-in voting for years, according to MarketWatch – The USPS says it is well equipped to deal with the amount of mail it expects due to an increase in mail-in voting – A small number of mail-in ballots are rejected due to voters forgetting to sign or missing deadlines.”
And the next article at the link is from mainstream media ABC News:
According the ABC article at the link that Twitter wants readers to consult over the President of the United States, Trump is wrong.
“President Donald Trump, in his latest efforts to sow doubt about the integrity of mail-in voting as November draws near, suggested this week that voters stress test the election system by voting both by mail and in person — an act that would constitute voter fraud.
His comments contradicted the law — it is illegal to vote twice in an election — but highlighted the real questions voters have about mail-in voting, something many Americans will do for the first time on Nov. 3 due to coronavirus concerns.”
Eric Trump caught the slight and retweeted with some good sarcasm, and said:
“Thanks @Twitter. Until you opined, I was very concerned about the ballots found in a ditch in Pennsylvania… the ballot harvesting in Minnesota & the election that was overturned in New Jersey where 19% of votes were found to fraudulent. Your (!) really puts my mind to ease”
It is unclear the decesion making process that was made to fact check the President of the United States, and to alter his communications on a topic that clearly he would know more about than the workers at Twitter, The Hill or ABC.
Is this campaign interference?
Apparently, they are not prepared for a peaceful transfer of power from the regular amount of media domination they have previously enjoyed.
