The struggling New York Times is facing a confident and angry opponent in a newly emerging lawsuit, amid numerous other legal attacks for falsely reporting events, that promises to set a new course for the landmark news organization.
“We are going all the way. It is going to be expensive for the New York Times, I think we have malicious intent here. We .may get to see great discovery. They lied about the Doctor in the story. I gave them a chance to correct their false information, and they refused. We have no choice. We need to defend our reputation,” Falwell said.
“I am loaded for bear, I am going to war. The New York Times can not afford this lawsuit, and I can,” Jerry Falwell Jr. said on Hannity’s radio program earlier in the day, talking about the lawsuit.
Since 2016, Falwell, Director of Liberty University has been under constant harassment from the opponents of President Donald J. Trump, for his early support of Trump as a candidate, was on Hannity Wednesday to talk about a lawsuit against the New York Times for their false reporting on Liberty University’s reaction to the pandemic that closed down many public institutions when the University had stayed open.
“They [the New York Times] are a bigoted bunch of liars and Buzz Feed type clickbait. These people [reporters] are also stupid. We have to defend our reputation. They came on campus past 25 different signs saying no trespassing, private property and they were dumb enough to post pictures of the signs, so we got warrants out for their arrest and they had to cut a deal with local prosecutors to keep from going to jail,” Falwell said.
Falwell talked about the terrible reporting, where New York Times reporters avoided investigating their claims, with local professional medical people who would destroy the NYT narrative that Falwell had created a virus “hot spot” with his failure to close the University over health concerns.

“Virginia’s conservative Liberty University today filed a $10 million defamation suit against the embattled New York Times for a “made up” and damaging story that falsely charged that students returning from spring break became infected with the coronavirus because the school stayed open.
In a 100-page suit, with exhibits, filed in Virginia’s Lynchburg Circuit Court, the 49-year-old school also charged that New York Times reporter Elizabeth Williamson and photographer Julia Rendleman ignored “No Trespassing” signs to tour the campus at a time when the school was trying to keep outsiders, who could potentially be infected with COVID-19, away.”
The news of the lawsuit comes at a time of blistering op-ed article about the resignation of a New York Times editor, decrying working conditions and the leftist agenda of the organization.
Bari Weiss leaving the NYT after 'constant bullying by colleagues.' A devastating resignation letter. 'Twitter is not on the masthead of The New York Times. But Twitter has become its ultimate editor.' Bravo Bari @bariweiss . https://t.co/SDfZGCIau8
