“Ye” also Kanye West had a beautiful musical service in the suburban area of Atlanta Georga on Sunday, Sept 6th, in front a small crowd, with preacher Joel Osteen who talked about taking a leap of faith, and trusting in Jesus for redemption.
“This is a Church of Jesus Christ,” West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, said about the musical project.
The West family pays out of their pocket for the project, and they share the platform with Pastors, who are allowed to speak a message at times. The left-leaning media has not been supportive of West’s Sunday Service programming and events.
West started “pop up” musical services as a way to evangelize new believers, about a year ago, using his superb musical talents. He has said that he felt saved by Jesus, and he wanted to talk about the healing he has found in his faith in Jesus.
The event has about 150 invited guests due to Pandemic and Social Distancing concerns and including the choir walking out on what looked like water, and performing.
Kim Kardashian West, Kanye’s wife recorded the entire event on her Instagram account and posted in support of her husband on her social media.
The rapper, who is currently running for president in the US, took his weekly church service to the Georgia city. In videos shared to social media by his wife, Kim Kardashian, West was seen leading the choir along with his children North, seven, and Saint, four, to the center of the lake.
Once in the middle, the musical group performed a number of gospel songs, with Kardashian filming from the bank as the sun set.
Pastor Osteen spoke and said,”You have to choose between your comfort and your calling, like Peter in the boat,” he said.
The group travels to areas, without much public notice. Fans of West’s hope to catch these very personal and intimate expressions of his faith.
A guest also recorded the event for Youtube:
“I’m watching these fine men and women singing, it looks like they’re walking on the water and my mind goes back to that time where Jesus invited Peter to walk on the water,” Osteen said.
“I think we all have times in life where God’s telling us to do something, I feel it down on the inside, [but] we don’t feel qualified. ‘I can’t sing like them’, ‘I can’t invent like Kanye’… but God doesn’t put a dream in your heart and not give you the ability to do it,” Osteen said.
West’s Sunday Service Choir has performed at events across the world, including at Coachella and Paris Fashion Week.
