In Miami, a 7-year-old girl was left brain dead after a drive-by shooting that additionally wounded a toddler and two adults, according to a report.
The girl was shot late Saturday in the Brownsville area of northwest Miami-Dade County. A shooter squeezed off more than 12 shots as people were getting out of their car in front of a house, according to the Miami Herald.
The girl, Alana Washington, was identified by Police on Monday. Police confirmed she was in critical condition at a hospital.
Police took to social media to ask for help finding who did this to the poor little girl.

One man inside the house returned fire, but it’s unclear who was the intended target of the shooting. We know it wasn’t 7-year-old Alana, so the big question is why was their vehicle fired upon?
Two adults and a 16-month-old boy had also been shot, police told the newspaper. The boy, who was hit within the thigh, was listed in steady situation at a hospital.
The adult victims, a 23-year-old old woman and a 19-year-old man, were both listed in stable condition with injuries to the torso, shoulder and neck, according to the Herald.
WATCH:
Homicide detectives have been brought in to handle the case because of the girl’s condition not looking so good. Witnesses said that it looked like the little girl had been shot in the back of the head.
One witness said she heard “about 15” shots fired before helping four neighbors who had also been wounded until the paramedics arrived.
“I just seen the victim on the ground and I just ran to help,” she said. “I just tried to stop the blood.”
Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said that prosecutors from her office have responded to the incident along with police investigators to gather “clues & information” to try to identify and arrest those involved.
“The million eyes of our community’s residents may have seen something that could provide an essential identifying clue,” she tweeted. “Please come forward and say something. You may become an important lifesaver with just a few words.”
On Monday, a reward of $10,000 was offered by Miami-Dade police and county officials for information that results in an arrest for the shooting.
“This type of indiscriminate violence is unconscionable & we as a community cannot become callous to it,” Miami-Dade Police Department Director Alfredo Ramirez tweeted Saturday.
That’s just it. I don’t think it was indiscriminate. Usually things like this involve drugs, human trafficking, or are gang-related. It’s a sin that this precious little girl was in the way of animals who didn’t care who they hit.
