A New York Times columnist, popular among liberals, is beseeching Joe Biden’s campaign to renegotiate the terms they agreed to for the three debates between their candidate and President Donald Trump. Frankly, I’m surprised he didn’t urge Biden to cancel all debates to avoid the country seeing the doddering old fool.
“I worry about Joe Biden debating Donald Trump,” Thomas Friedman, a liberal political and foreign affairs columnist at the Times wrote on Tuesday. “He should do it only under two conditions. Otherwise, he’s giving Trump unfair advantages.”
The fact that Trump can put two sentences together without screwing up is considered by Democrats to be an unfair advantage.
Friedman, who has won the Pulitzer Prize three times for his work (but so did others for pieces they wrote about the Russian collusion story that turned out to be a huge lie and hoax), proceeded to argue that the former vice president mustn’t appear at the debates unless Trump releases his tax returns and a “real-time fact-checking team approved by both candidates” is included in the debates.
Tax returns? Are you kidding me? How about Trump hands over his tax returns and Biden hands over the Delaware Papers of his sealed Senate documents that he’s been hiding for years? How about Biden turn over the details of how he sold the country out as vice president when he got his son Hunter the very lucrative gigs in Ukraine and China?
“Ten minutes before the scheduled conclusion of the debate this team report on any misleading statements, phony numbers or outright lies either candidate had uttered,” he wrote. “That way no one in that massive television audience can go away easily misled.”
Yea, so instead of a one on one debate, this cretin columnist wants to have four against one, Biden and three MSNBC fact-checkers against Donald Trump.
I think Trump should make some demands of his own. How about no more moderators? We know that presidential moderators are made up of half CNN staffers and half Democrat donors. They are always biased in favor of Democrats and against Republicans, even when they moderate Republican primary debates.
Wouldn’t it be interesting to see Biden debate Trump based on questions pre-written by members of the audience?
Folks, this is a member of the news media actively and openly helping the Democrat candidate for president. We always knew the liberal media were in the tank for the Democrats, but now they’re not even hiding their bias anymore. It’s maddening.
Today, we have news outlets creating Fact Check departments who do fact checks that are as left-wing biased as the rest of the news outlet. At the end of the debate, those biased “fact-checkers” will claim Trump lied about something when he didn’t, and nobody will hear how the fact-checker was debunked after the debate is long a part of history.
There is nothing fair about Friendman’s suggestions because Democrats have corrupted everything in America. There is no issue, department, organization, or event that the Democrats haven’t bastardized and twisted to hit their leftist narrative. News anchors at CNN, MSNBC, and others look right into the camera every day and lie through their teeth. They can not be trusted, and yet we’re supposed to trust them during presidential debates? I don’t think so.
The columnist asserted that the two conditions would guarantee each candidate was on even footing, especially as “Trump might very well lie and mislead for the entire debate, forcing Biden to have to spend the majority of his time correcting [him] before making his own points.”
The only one running who lies every time he opens his mouth is Joe Biden. Biden launched his 2020 campaign off the Charlottesville lie that Trump referred to neo-Nazis and white nationalists as “very fine people,” and even after he was informed that Trump actually condemned both hate groups during the speech, Biden still repeats the lie every chance he gets.
“He should not go into such a high-stakes moment ceding any advantages to Trump,” Friedman wrote. “Trump is badly trailing in the polls, and he needs these debates much more than Biden does to win over undecided voters.”
If you believe the polls today, then you should seek professional help.
And if you believe any moderators would be fair to both candidates, you really need professional help.
The column comes as Biden has agreed to take part in only the customary three debates between the Republican and Democrat presidential candidates. Trump, who last year floated the idea of skipping the debates in general, had made an aggressive push for more than three debates. The president also wanted to reduce the role of moderators in the process, because they are completely biased against Republicans and for Democrats. This would allow the candidates a less structured environment in which to exchange views and discuss topics important to the nation.
Joe Biden will not debate Trump. There, I said it. I believe his campaign will come up with some reason to cancel all debates. Don’t be surprised if Biden one day says something to the order of, “I don’t need to debate Trump. We all know what he stands for, and you know what I stand for, so there’s no reason to let him stand up there on stage and lie.” Don’t think it won’t happen. The worst thing Biden can do is debate Donald Trump. The contrast would be devastating to Team Biden.
If Biden finally comes out and says he doesn’t want to debate Trump, then I think the Trump campaign will have no choice but to replace him with Kanye West who recently said he wants to run for president. That debate would be a lot more interesting than watching Biden wander onto the debate stage acting like an old drunk looking for the bathroom.
The Biden campaign strategy right now is to run out the clock while keeping Biden hidden away in his basement for as long as possible until the election.
Some on the left, nevertheless, are anxious that even three debates might be potentially damaging to Biden’s White House hopes. Specifically, many fear that if Biden’s penchant for gaffes reemerges throughout the televised encounters, it might convince those still on the fence to either vote Trump or stay home on November 3rd.
I think the Democrats should thank Friedman for saying what’s on all of their minds, but they’re afraid to be the first one to say that Donald Trump will destroy Joe Biden in a debate with half his brain tied behind his back.
After giving a speech last week in his home state of Delaware, Biden told reporters that he “can hardly wait” for the chance to face Trump on the debate stage.
Yeah, and I’m Mary, Queen of Scots.
