A black man died after he was shot by police in a Minneapolis suburb during a traffic stop, crashing his vehicle several blocks away. This ignited violent protests that went on throughout the night and into the wee hours of Monday morning as police in riot gear clashed with demonstrators.
The man’s mother called for calm.
“All the violence, if it keeps going it’s only going to be about the violence. We need it to be about why my son got shot for no reason,” she said to a gathering of people near the shooting scene. “We need to make sure it’s about him and not about smashing police cars, because that will not bring my son back.”
20-year-old Daunte Wright, identified by family members, died on Sunday in the metropolitan area where tensions are already high based on the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin who is charged with killing George Floyd.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz took to social media to tweet he was praying for Wright’s family.
“I am closely monitoring the situation in Brooklyn Center. Gwen and I are praying for Daunte Wright’s family as our state mourns another life of a Black man taken by law enforcement.”

This guy is who Minnesotans look to as a leader? I guess Walz doesn’t believe in waiting for the facts to come in. He framed his tweet to make it appear that the shooting is already determined to be police misconduct. Did he really have to say “as our state mourns another life of a Black man taken by law enforcement?” Why not wait for the facts to come in?
A statement by Brooklyn Center police said that officers stopped a motorist shortly before 2 pm on Sunday. After learning that the driver had an outstanding warrant, police tried to arrest him. The driver reentered the vehicle, and an officer fired, hitting the driver, police said. The vehicle traveled several blocks before hitting another vehicle.
The part that you will not hear the mob shouting about is that Wright, in the middle of an arrest, ran back to his vehicle, and reached inside for something. In that kind of situation, you think there’s a gun in the car and the guy is going to shoot you to avoid getting arrested. I’m not saying that is what happened. I’m only saying that it’s not normal behavior to tear off running to your car during an arrest the way Wright did, and cops do get shot all the time because of behavior like that.
Based on news reports of a police-involved shooting on top of social media showing a lot of different videos, it appears that another riot broke out in Minnesota.
It seems the mayor of Brooklyn Center’s Mayor Mike Elliott knows more about how to be a leader than the governor as he took to social media to ask for calm.
“The officer shooting in Brooklyn Center today is tragic. We are asking the protesters to continue to be peaceful and that peaceful protesters are not dealt with with force.”

Numerous videos showing people rioting in Minneapolis were being posted to social media, some showing rioters jumping up and down on police vehicles.
Apparently, according to BLM, the officer who shot Ashli Babbitt was defending himself…he seems to trail off as if someone told him to shut up, lol.

Twenty businesses were broken into at the city’s Shingle Creek shopping center, according to Minnesota Department of Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington.
Law enforcement agencies were coordinating to quell the unrest, Harrington said, also noting that the National Guard had been activated.
Mayor Elliott tweeted out that he was imposing a curfew in the city that expired at 6 o’clock Monday morning.
“We are continuing to monitor the situation. As Mayor, I am imposing a curfew in the City Of Brooklyn Center. The curfew will be in place until 6am on Monday April 12, 2021. We want to make sure everyone is safe. Please be safe and please go home.”

Police stated that Brooklyn Center officers wear body cameras and that they believe that the dash cameras were activated during the arrest. BCP said it asked the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate.
Tensions are already high in that area as the Derek Chauvin trial is going on. The Fake News media are setting up a powder keg of violence by reporting lies on how the trial is going so far.
If you’ve been watching the trial, then you know that the state’s case against Chauvin is falling apart, yet the media continue to report that it’s a slam dunk, that the trial is basically over, and that a trial shouldn’t even be taking place because it’s so obvious Chauvin is guilty. Some media hacks are asking why is there even a trial because there’s a tape and we’ve all seen the tape. The media are only running headlines on things that the prosecution is saying, completely ignoring any of the headlines that are being made during cross-examination. There are treating the trial as if a guilty verdict is a foregone conclusion.
The reason they are doing all of this is that they wanted people to believe that the trial is a foregone conclusion and if it is a foregone conclusion and Derek Chauvin is acquitted then they get to run with their favorite narrative which is he was acquitted because of systemic American racism. They’re making it appear that the case is so clear-cut that Chauvin is guilty, so it must be racism that got him acquitted.
The Washington Post ran a headline saying “Trial to Resume After Training Officer Says an Unauthorized Neck Restraint Was Used on George Floyd” making it sound like an unauthorized neck restraint was used on George Floyd, therefore a felony murder took place. That’s what they wanted you to believe. But most of the state’s witnesses have been falling apart on cross-examination.
With bad reporting like that, the shooting of Wright was just adding to a perfect storm for more violence in the city of Minneapolis.
