Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) (AOC) aunt disputed the radical leftist lawmaker’s recent argument that former President Donald Trump was responsible for the lack of aid in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria. During an interview, AOC’s aunt said that the problem was the Puerto Rican government, and not politicians in Washington, DC [for once].
“Just over a week ago, my abuela [grandmother] fell ill,” the progressive actress said. “I went to Puerto Rico to see her- my 1st time in a year+ bc of COVID. This is her home. Hurricane María relief hasn’t arrived. Trump blocked relief $ for PR. People are being forced to flee ancestral homes, & developers are taking them.”

The New York congresswoman is exploiting her own family by publicly posting photos of their hurricane-damaged home. I’m sure the family members were appalled but are too classy to say anything publicly against their nutty niece.
This was about as truthful as when she told the world she was in severe danger on January 6 during the riot when she was in a completely different building that no one attempted to enter.
Her own family is disputing her claims. What kind of person exploits their own family to score political points? A monster, that’s who.
The Daily Mail, one of the most read news sites in the world, actually tracked down AOC’s grandmother’s home. When they got there, they met a woman who told the reporters that she was AOC’s aunt, and she seemed somewhat taken aback by her niece’s exploitation of their family situation.
“I am her aunt. We don’t speak for the community,” the woman told the reporters. “We are private people, we don’t talk about our family.”
According to the outlet, AOC’s aunt refused to blame Trump for the problems that Hurricane Maria victims had to get aid to repair their homes.
“It’s a problem here in Puerto Rico with the administration and the distribution of help,” the aunt told the outlet. “It is not a problem with Washington. We had the assistance and it didn’t get to the people.”
But liberal Democrats will never blame the government for anything.
The problem the Trump administration had was the volume of corruption and financial irregularities in Puerto Rico with taxpayer dollars.
After AOC’s tweets on the matter, conservative commentator Matt Walsh shot back at the congresswoman pointing out the obvious.
“Shameful that you live in luxury while allowing your own grandmother to suffer in these squalid conditions”

Walsh later raised more than $100,000 for AOC’s grandmother until the online campaign was ended. In the end, the New York representative’s family turned down the money.
The aunt said it was “policies that pushed out local families.”
The thing about radical Democrats is that they will even tell their own family members that they should get in line for a government program when they need help rather than throw a couple of bucks their way. AOC makes $174,000 a year, lives in a luxury apartment in one of the fanciest complexes in the DC area that rents out studios for over $2,000 a month. She also recently leased a very expensive Tesla so you would think she had a few dollars she could give to help out her family in Puerto Rico.
The problem with liberals is that they love to help people in need, but it’s usually with other people’s money. Even if Ocasio-Cortez wanted to be stingy with her money, she didn’t think about creating a GoFundMe for her own family? A conservative podcast host did, and he’s not a blood relative.
This is yet another case of AOC running her mouth to score political points and she didn’t think it through. I bet the last thing on her mind when she virtue-signaled her insults about the Trump administration is that most normal people would look at her and wonder why the hell she didn’t do something to help her own family.
