Andrew Breitbart always said that politics is downstream from culture. We have athletes coming out saying they don’t believe in vaccine mandates and it is bound to spread into other areas of our pop culture soon enough.
Shaq took exception with situations where a person faces losing their job if they don’t comply and get vaccinated. That’s because Shaq understands this is America and we have the right to decide what experimental medicine we will allow to go into our bodies. It’s called “bodily sovereignty.”
The basketball superstar said that while he urges people to be safe and to take care of their families, he said he doesn’t think people should “be forced” to taking something they don’t want to take.

Professional athletes are talking about it, because many of them are coming down with illnesses that they believe were caused by the COVID vaccine.
Back in October 2021, basketball star Brandon Goodwin, who played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, saw his season end early, and worried about his career being over because of health complications that he believes were caused by getting the jab. Goodwin, a healthy professional basketball player, got blood clots that he believes were caused by the vaccine. He said of his symptoms it “all happened in the span of a month” of him getting vaccinated.
“I got sick and I never quite recovered from it,” Goodwin said on a YouTube stream by Cosign Zee. “I would always have back pain, I was just super tired in the games.”
“Bro, I was so tired,” he said. “I felt like I couldn’t run up and down the court. My back was hurting.”
Shaq has commented in the past on NBA player Kyrie Irving’s refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Irving isn’t vaccinated, and so he is being treated like a second-class citizen and cannot play in home games. When teammate Kevin Durant got injured, Irving said that he would not change his decision on vaccination.
Shaq said at the time, “I don’t see how the team could put up with that.” He said if Irving were on his team, he’d “have to put hands on him.”
Tens of millions of Americans are against vaccine mandates that require workers to get vaccinated regardless of their own personal medical preferences and decisions. It’s also the first time in our history that government has mistreated healthy people with draconian lockdowns and mandates. We have always quarantined sick people, not healthy people.
