Manchin confirmed that he is the only Democrat in the Senate with enough common sense to oppose the spending bill that would destroy our economy and make us less safe during an interview on Fox News Sunday telling Bret Baier that he will not vote for Biden’s Build Back Better bill.
Not only did the senator from West Virginia say that he’s not going to vote for the $1.75 trillion bill, but he announced that he’s not going to continue negotiating with party leadership going forward. That essentially killed the bill.
Back in May, because of his steadfast refusal to go bat-guano crazy on spending, I said that Manchin may just be the savior of our republic.
“I’ve always said this: If I can’t go home and explain it to the people of West Virginia, I can’t vote for it. And I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can’t,” Manchin said. “I’ve tried everything humanly possible. I can’t get there.”
“This is a no on this legislation,” Manchin added. “I have tried everything I know to do.”
In a statement released Sunday afternoon, the White House slammed Manchin and blamed him for the imminent wave of child poverty after Biden rescued the children.
“Senator Manchin will have to explain to those families paying $1,000 a month for insulin why they need to keep paying that, instead of $35 for that vital medicine,” the statement read.
Democrats are really good at playing the guilt game, but I say we fight back in kind. Joe Biden and the rest of the cretins who are attacking Manchin need to explain to the millions of Americans who are always getting stuck paying for other people’s children when they owe them nothing. They need to explain why they have brought in over 1 million illegal aliens that the middle-class now has to support through their tax dollars. The Democrats should explain to the American people why they are lying to them about COVID and vaccines.

Manchin said he spoke with Biden, Schumer and Pelosi and could not reach an agreement because of ongoing inflation, the national debt and the Covid pandemic. He couldn’t reach agreement because agreement to those three means they get everything they want and you get nothing.
After his interview on Fox News Sunday, Manchin released a statement on social media that explains why he’s not going to support the Build Back Better bill.
One of my favorite paragraphs from his statement is when he rips on the Democrats for their vision for America.
“My Democratic colleagues in Washington are determined to dramatically reshape our society in a way that leaves our country even more vulnerable to the threats we face. I cannot take that risk with a staggering debt of more than $29 trillion and inflation taxes that are real and harmful to every hard-working American at the gasoline pumps, grocery stores and utility bills with no end in sight,” Manchin explained.
Manchin also pointed out that the Democrats are being dishonest about the true cost of the “Build Back Better” bill.
“The American people deserve transparency on the true cost of the Build Back Better Act. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office determined the cost is upwards of $4.5 trillion which is more than double what the bill’s ardent supporters have claimed. They continue to camouflage the real cost of the intent behind this bill,” Manchin explained.
The senator also said he believes the bill will further impede America’s ability to respond to growing geopolitical threats from China and Russia, warning that he believe the bill will “risk the reliability of our electric grid and increase our dependence on foreign supply chains.”
“I will never forget the warning from then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, that he delivered during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing during my first year in the Senate. He testified that the greatest threat facing our nation was our national debt and since that time, our debt has doubled,” Manchin said.
Joe Manchin is probably the only Democrat who could get elected to his seat in West Virginia. The state went solid red after the Obama-Biden administration put over 1,000 families out of work with the stroke of a pen when they shut down a coal mine. The people of West Virginia will never forget that and they will never let Manchin forget it either.
