Agonizing video footage captured the moment a man was fatally shot while crossing a Bronx street while holding his 6-year-old little girl’s hand. That precious little girl will never be the same.
Rodney Harrison, the NYPD’s chief of detectives, posted the video on social media. The video opens with Anthony Robinson coming to the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and East 170th Street in Mount Eden around 5:50 pm on Sunday.
Holding his young daughter’s left hand in his right, Robinson, 29, stops at a crosswalk and looks at a dark sedan slowing next to them, seemingly to see whether the driver was turning into their path or not.
But the video shows the driver continuing to roll along next to father and daughter as they are crossing Sheridan Avenue.
Barely out of the crosswalk, Robinson turned, looking like he wanted to say something to his daughter, his back to the sedan.
The shooter then held a gun out of the passenger side window and opened fire, shooting Robinson dead.
As Robinson falls to the pavement, his terrified daughter takes off running down Sheridan Avenue, apparently physically unharmed, but she will never forget what happened. This little girl is damaged for life.
