A short video shows that on Tuesday, a California woman set her own hair on fire while riding on a commuter train.
In a video posted on TikTok on Wednesday, a woman who is seen standing up and crying as her hair is engulfed in flames. A guy yelled out, “Your hair’s on fire!” before she tries to extinguish her head by laying herself down on the seat, as another passenger is seen trying to help her by patting at the blaze with his hands.
What would you do if you suddenly saw another passenger’s hair burst out into flames?
The fire was quickly put out, but fills the train car with smoke.
“What the [DJHJ EDIT], man!” another passenger shouts out.
The frightening scene took place at the El Cerrito del Norte Station around 5 pm Tuesday, BART officials told the San Francisco Chronicle.
“She appears to have set her own hair on fire, and BART police says there does not appear to be any sort of assault committed by others,” Jim Allison, a BART spokesman, told The San Francisco Chronicle.
You would think that cop would be thinking to himself that he never thought he would have to make a public statement like that, but my family is full of cops, and I can tell you, that’s nothing. People do the dumbest things.
“At this time BPD has not received any information indicating this was any sort of assault committed by another rider,” BART spokesperson Jim Allison told the outlet.
If I were her I’d make light of it when people ask her about what happened by saying, “I was so angry that the train was late, I set my hair on fire!”
But I digress, and I hope she’s okay.
