On Monday, Chasten Buttigieg, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg’s husband, took to social media to tweet a message claiming that Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation making it unlawful to recognize the “existence” of LGBT people.
“Every LGBTQ student, teacher, parent, nurse, astronaut, mechanic, soldier, etc in Florida is still LGBTQ. The governor can sign a bill making it illegal to acknowledge their existence, but he can’t make them disappear with a pen. Love will always win, friends. Onward.”

Like his husband running the Department of Transportation, Chasten has no idea what he’s talking about.
The bill does no such thing. LGBTQ people are alive and well in Florida and believe it or not, conservatives don’t care. They just don’t want their children being sexualized in school at the age of 5 by pervert groomers who are real and active in American schools throughout the country. Apparently, Chasten and others who support his views don’t believe parents have the right to make decisions about their children’s upbringing.
The Florida governor signed House Bill 1557, known as the “Parental Rights in Education” bill on Monday. Critics have been falsely claiming that the piece of legislation was called the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, even though those words don’t appear anywhere in the bill.
One of the provisions (#3) included in the bill prohibits teaching children in kindergarten through 3rd grade about sexual orientation and gender identity.
“Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”
A lot of people may not know it, but there are groomers involved in many schools that push indoctrinating young children into the LGBTQ lifestyle against their parent’s wishes. In some cases, teachers who push the indoctrination don’t even tell the parents what they are doing.
Children go to school to learn predominantly reading, writing, and math. Sexualizing 5-year-old children in school is evil. Sorry, but it is evil. Parents have the right to determine how their children will be raised, and it is unfathomable that teachers want to groom children at such young ages to consider what gender they think they are. It’s sick. How would a 5-year-old even think they might not identify with the gender they were born? To argue that children that young are emotionally mature enough to understand the issue is mental gobbledygook.
One Twitter user pointed this out perfectly.
“It’s only illegal to acknowledge their existence to k-3rd graders. It shouldn’t be a classroom topic at that age anyways. The conversation should begin at home if necessary. The support for the LBTGQ+ isn’t lost. Just not an open discussion for the classroom at that age group.”

But leftists and LGBTQ activists are not buying it. They want to groom your kids. The very fact that these people are blowing a gasket over this provision of the bill proves it.
Twitchy’s Sam Janney set the record straight (no pun intended).
“Love has nothing to do with protesting a bill to protect small children from being inundated with sexuality. Read the bill, Sparky.”

During remarks before signing the bill on Monday, DeSantis declared that, “we will continue to recognize that in the state of Florida parents have a fundamental role in the education, healthcare and well-being of their children. We will not move from that. I don’t care what corporate media outlets say. I don’t care what Hollywood says. I don’t care what big corporations say. Here I stand. I’m not backin’ down.”
