Chuck Schumer’s Abortion Bill to Codify Roe So Radical Both Murkowski and Collins Say No Way

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has gotten into the game of Top It with other leaders of the Politically Correct Death Squad once the initial draft document of the Mississippi abortion law that resulted in a majority opinion that Roe v Wade be overturned was illegally leaked from the US Supreme Court.

What happens when leftists play Top It is eventually, after each contestant tries to top the other with an even more outrageous idea, one of them is going to go too far and ruin it for everyone. That’s usually AOC‘s job, but this time, it’s not in the House but in the Senate.

Over the fight for codifying abortion in federal law, Schumer went so far above the others in calling for an extreme remedy that two RINOs he should have counted on aborted the idea.

The senator from New York got so crazy that he lost Senators Lisa Murkowski (RINO-AK) and Susan Collins (RINO-ME) who up until now have both routinely supported the unconstitutional Roe decision and also its stare decisis’ little brother, Casey.

You would think Schumer would take a moment and realize he done screwed up, but no. I mean, he lost the two abortion RINOs in the Senate with a 50-50 split.

So why did this happen? Because Schumer’s bill doesn’t just unconstitutionally codify abortion, it expands the ugly practice throughout the entire pregnancy, up to the moment of birth. Schumer’s bill would also prevent states from creating any regulations on abortion of any kind, no matter what the state’s voters want.

And, believe it or not, the two abortion RINOs created their own abortion legislation back in February. Their version pretty much codifies the language of Roe and Casey. And Schumer refused to call the legislation up, claiming it would be a “compromise,” saying, “we are not looking to compromise on something as vital as this.”

We have the Senate Majority Leader arguing that abortion, a state issue according to the Constitution and the 10th Amendment, must be codified in federal law. In other words, Chuck Schumer believes that a mother slaughtering her unborn child is such a vital issue that it requires violating the US Constitution by unlawfully creating a federal law without going for an amendment to ask the states for permission.

Here’s what’s really going on. Schumer and the rest of the Democrats want to make abortion, or Roe, a galvanizing issue for the November midterm elections. He knows there isn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell that he can get 60 votes to get past a filibuster and he now doesn’t have 51 votes to change the rules to get around a filibuster. Both Collins and Murkowski were joined by Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) in that none of the three will change the filibuster on this issue. Manchin made it clear he will never vote to get rid of the filibuster.

This allows Schumer to rant, scream, and rage all over Washington, DC. Knowing he’s not even going to be able to bring his ghoulish bill to the floor for a vote, he gets to thump his chest and act like Democrats are fighting for the people. But the New York senator has another problem. Outside of some fringe leftist lunatics, there is no civil war raging over the overturning of Roe.

Schumer, and any Democrat who joins him on his little stunt, is simply trying to fire up the base and fundraise off of it.

I for one hope he does bring the bill up for a vote because then a filibuster will happen and many Democrat senators will then have to explain to their constituents why they want to vote for Schumer’s radical abortion bill. I say bring it on, Chucky. If Schumer wants to get his party to fight for Pro-Life taxpayers being forced to pay for abortions, forcing states to give up their own abortion laws for Schumer’s, and abortion on demand up to the moment of birth, only six months before the midterms, then it looks like Christmas may come early.
