At a Cleveland radio station, a news anchor was fired this week when he referred to Democrat Kamala Harris as the nation’s “first colored vice presidential candidate,” according to reports.
Harris is not African American, and don’t leftists refer to people like Harris as People of Color? Would they have fired him had he said “a person of color?” Harris’ mother is from India and her father is from Jamaica.
Anchor Kyle Cornell, 26, used the term for Harris as a news promo spot that aired during WTAM radio’s broadcast of a Cleveland Indians baseball game, according to Cleveland.com.
If Harris is offended by this then how would she ever deal as vice president with some of her counterparts around the world?
Some woke baseball fans posted negative comments on social media, Cleveland’s WKYC-TV reported.
According to WTAM, Cornell read, “The US officially has its first colored vice presidential candidate. More coming up after the game on Newsradio WTAM 1100 Cleveland.”
“Colored” is considered a term that is outdated term by many people, as some link it to slavery and the Jim Crow era, all things brought to you by the Democratic Party by the way. Someone should tell the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), a prominent civil rights organization that was founded in 1909, that their name needs to be changed, because it could offend some people of color and most definitely the wokety woke wokes on Twitter.
Someone also needs to tell AOC and other leftists that they’re using an outdated term when they say “People of Color.”
After he was fired from his job, Cornell told WKYC that he meant no disrespect to Harris in using the word.
His phrasing “wasn’t meant to be malicious or in any sort of way trying to defame the character of anyone,” Cornell told the station, according to Cleveland.com.
“That was never the goal and for that, again, I am truly sorry,” he continued. “For the station of WTAM too, I feel awful for putting them through what they’ve had to go through over the past 24 hours. … I just want them to understand it was a rough choice to make and that I accept my punishment.”
WTAM’s program and promotions director, Ray Davis, gave a statement announcing Cornell’s dismissal.
“We are aware of the reference made on WTAM by Kyle Cornell,” Davis said in a statement. “We take this matter very seriously and addressed it immediately. The term used is extremely offensive and does not align with our station’s core values and commitment to the communities we serve. He is no longer with WTAM.”
In other words, the station is intimidated by the leftist cancel culture and they wanted to get ahead of it.
Harris, 55, formally accepted the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nomination this week at the Democratic National Convention.
