Critical race theory was one of the topics discussed during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) to detail what it is and how to fight back against it. And fight back we must, because if it is allowed to be taught in our nation’s schools it will indoctrinate millions of children to grow up hating America.
During his speech at CPAC, former President Donald Trump condemned the Marxist threat and warned about indoctrination in schools. Trump pinpointed New York Times writer Nikole Hannah-Jones who also recently got tenure at Howard University, if you can believe that.
“We will completely defund and bar critical race theory: 1776 not 1619,” Trump said, indicating Jones’ controversial “1619 Project,” in which Jones claims the United States was founded not in 1776 but in 1619 based on slavery as well as the “legalized discrimination against black Americans.”
The Frankfurt School, which is made up of a bunch of radical Marxists, came up with critical race theory with the goal of making cultural changes that Marxism alone failed to do politically.
“The Democrat obsession with race is only dragging us backward into the past, and it is bringing our country down to a point where even China and Russia are lecturing us on human rights, race — and they’re doing it in a very humiliating fashion,” Trump continued.
Trump’s statements came after an earlier exchange of ideas at the conference on Sunday where panelists said enough was enough, conservatives have to stop playing defense and start to go on offence in the culture war that threatens to end our republic.
“Let’s take a step back from critical race theory,” Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL), a rising rock star in the conservative movement, said from a panel led by Terry Schilling from “American Principles Project.”
“For the past 20 years, it’s the political left that is creating the culture war,” Donalds continued. “The left is constantly pushing the culture war, and they’re doing it in our schools,” he added.
Later, Donalds said, “We have to start spreading our values and our ideas across the country. We have to actually engage in the education of our children because they truly are the future.” Amen to that.
Another panelist, Inez Stepman from the “Independent Women’s Forum” said the lack of attention given to education by conservatives and Republicans in the past few decades is partly to blame for the Lefts’ rise in K-12 schools.
“It’s not going to be enough to ban Critical Race Theory on the legislative level,” Stepman added. “We have decades to undo.”
I blame the fact that the GOP has too many RINOs. RINOs do not have what it takes to go on offense. They would rather lose like gentlemen than grow a pair and go after the maniacal radical Left to save our country.
Trump also pushed for the alternative of school choice, “government-run schools are going to teach children to hate their country.” School choice is considered a civil rights issue with many minority groups because for many of them the public schools in their areas are failing miserably. Democrats are vehemently against school choice because they are beholden to the teachers’ unions for the cash they deliver every election cycle. Democrats care more about getting reelected than they do about your child’s education. When you rob a child of an education, you are robbing them of a lifetime of opportunity.
Stepman made the point that as parents should and will do what’s right for their children, no one should give up on the idea that public schools should not be saved from the infiltration of woke ideology. Every child who is indoctrinated with things like critical race theory grows up to be an adult that hates his country and becomes another part of the problem. The Marxists have always understood to get to the children at a young age and it’s high time conservatives do the same by teaching them the truth about America, including its darkest periods, but to stop the racist critical race theory designed to teach children to hate America.
“You cannot live in a country where the public schools are actively anti-Americanizing children and expect that you’ll be able to keep your homeschooling and your private schools. So we have to care about what’s happing in the public schools,” she said.
“We’re graduating rank after rank of woke cultural revolutionaries into every institution in this nation — and it starts in the education system. If we fix that, then a lot of things downstream will start to become better I think,” she concluded.
