A US government official, paid by your tax dollars, seemingly ordered his employees to not publicly acknowledge American links to and funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the Chinese lab embroiled in a possible lab-leak coronavirus origin theory that was reported by all the mainstream news media as a conspiracy theory and came with censorship and demonetization punishments by leftist tech tyrants if you dared talk about it on their social media platforms.
According to a Vanity Fair report that came out on Thursday, government official Christopher Park wanted to steer away from opening up some sort of “Pandora’s Box” of the US government funding gain-of-function research either directly or indirectly to the Wuhan lab in Wuhan, China, via grants that went to EcoHealth Alliance, a nonprofit group, that funneled the money to the Wuhan lab.
Here’s a real kicker. EcoHealth Alliance did not have to go through the review board of the Department of Health and Human Services where the grant could have been rejected. The reason it wasn’t subjected to review is that the sub-agency that awarded grants never told the review board. Was that a crime? Will we ever find out?
It has been reported that Park told his employees at the State Department’s Biological Policy Staff in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation where he is director, to not speak publicly about funding. A person who was in attendance at the meeting Park gave that order told Vanity Fair that Park’s comments were “so nakedly against transparency” as to be “shocking and disturbing.”
Thomas DiNanno, former acting assistant secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance, said that Park’s order “smelled like a cover-up.”
According to the outlet, Park pressed for the United States to resume funding gain-of-function research back in 2017.
“I am skeptical that people genuinely felt they were being discouraged from presenting facts,” Park told Vanity Fair.
What part of don’t speak publicly about it does he not get?
It “is making an enormous and unjustifiable leap … to suggest that research of that kind that something untoward is going on,” Park continued.
When you call for the exact opposite of transparency, there’s really no other way to consider it but that something untoward is going on.
The Wuhan lab received $600,000 of taxpayer dollars from EchoHealth between 2014 and 2019 to study bat coronaviruses. So, where did the money come from? The funding to the Wuhan lab came from none other than the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a sub-agency for the National Institutes of Health that is led by White House senior medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, or as I like to call him, Faucinoccio whose nose could tickle someone in New York from Los Angeles. Faucinoccio distributed the money during a government moratorium against gain-of-function research.
“If you ban gain-of-function research, you ban all of virology,” an NIH official reportedly said. “Ever since the moratorium, everyone’s gone wink-wink and just done gain-of-function research anyway.”
It’s incredible that we find out how much our government does things they are not supposed to do and yet no one is ever held accountable.
DiNanno told the outlet that an intel analyst had difficulty finding a report written by officials working at the Department of Energy lab, which indicates that Park was not the only official to resist discussing the lab-leak theory.
If the government funded the worst pandemic of our lifetime, it makes total sense they were trying to cover it up.
The acting Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Chris Ford continually downplayed the lab-leak theory to DiNanno and more researchers, even writing a memo where he suggested officials shouldn’t see the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s “involvement in classified virus research as intrinsically problematic since the U.S. Army has been deeply involved in virus research in the United States for many years.”
The old we did it too isn’t going to work here, because we never unleashed a dangerous virus that killed over 3 million people around the globe.
Ford told the outlet he was trying to avoid “stuff that makes us look like the crackpot brigade.” Well, who looks like a crackpot now?
Incredibly, as the lab-leak story garners more and more attention from the media, they are already trying to blame former President Donald Trump. Washington Post reporter, Aaron Blake, hammered the Trump administration for not fighting harder to release intelligence promoting the lab-leak theory.
Blake must be suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome or a serious case of selective media amnesia. The entire mainstream news media called Trump a racist for even calling it the China virus or the Wuhan virus. Every time he mentioned the lab-leak theory, the press went bonkers and claimed it was misinformation and a conspiracy theory.
Media types can’t now claim Trump didn’t try hard enough to get the information out there. For goodness’ sake, we have media personalities right now like Maggie Haberman of the New York Times claiming the reason they failed at their job to report on lab-leak theory was that Donald Trump was the one who brought it up. Journalists can be the most irresponsible people on the planet.

President Joe Biden ordered the intelligence community to analyze the situation and give an assessment of the origins of COVID-19 within 90 days on May 26. But many of the people in the intelligence community are suspected to be the ones who did everything they possibly could to get rid of Trump so don’t expect any transparency to come of their assessment. It’s going to take amateur gumshoes like the Decentralized Radical Autonomous Search Team Investigating COVID-19 or DRASTIC that uncovered the Wuhan lab-leak theory because we can no longer trust media or government science people to tell us the truth.
