Can you believe that a groom in Texas was shot in the chest at his own wedding ceremony, and even his new bride is refusing to assist investigators?
Officers believe the groom, who has not yet been identified, was shot after a fight with one of the guests at the wedding celebration in suburban Houston Thursday night, according to the Houston Chronicle.
I’ve heard of shotgun weddings, but this is ridiculous. This is no way to start a marriage.
Both the injured groom and the shooter fled the scene, however, the newly hitched and shot groom was discovered bleeding at a house across the street.
The groom had to be airlifted to an area hospital close by as shown in footage shared by a Harris County Sheriff’s captain. He was in critical condition.
He was later upgraded to being in stable condition and is anticipated to survive, officials said.
Investigators stated three people that were inside the residence were detained by authorities.
A neighbor who asked to not be identified said she was in bed at 11:30 pm when she heard the brouhaha going on outside.
“It was loud, really loud,” she said.
“My daughter ran into my room and said, ‘Mom, there’s shots, there’s shots, there’s shots.’ So we came outside to see what was going on and we saw the bride come out and she started yelling, ‘Where is he? Where is he? I need to find him.’”
Being in stable condition, deputies said he is ready to go into surgery.
Deputies said that, “Witnesses on scene thus far have been uncooperative,” including the bride.
I’m willing to bet it’s either a relative of the groom or an ex-boyfriend of the bride, and they’re all trying to protect him from being arrested. I can’t think of another scenario where a bride wouldn’t cooperate with police to arrest her newlywed husand’s shooter.
“People at the house have been detained until we can get their witness statements,” Shannon said.

Apparently, the bride was running into around the streets screaming, “Where is he? I need to find him!” after her husband was shot, according to a neighbor who told Click2Houston.
