Both sides of the political aisle have been waiting with bated breath on whether the deal Elon Musk made to purchase Twitter goes through because free speech rights hang in the balance with what will become of the new town square.
Conservatives want to ensure that there is free speech for all while leftists are freaking out that there might be free speech for all.
Leftists are petrified that they will no longer be able to censor what they consider hate speech, misinformation and disinformation, which the Left are infamous for perpetrating themselves, but they never get censored. They’re afraid they will no longer be able to censor speech about election fraud, COVID-19, ivermectin, men putting on a dress and identifying as a woman, and a whole host of other nonsense they’ve been getting away with thanks to censorship via selective use of the Terms of Service policies at Twitter.
Elon Musk is a businessman and a techno geek. He’s not just interested in fixing the unamerican actions of censorship like opening up algorithms, removing shadow bans, and ending censorship against conservative speech. Yes, he is very much interested in doing those things. But, he is also tilted toward improving the app’s software coding, security, and site design.
“If Twitter acquisition completes, company will be super focused on hardcore software engineering, design, infosec & server hardware”
I strongly believe that all managers in a technical area must be technically excellent.
Managers in software must write great software or it’s like being a cavalry captain who can’t ride a horse!

To show he is focused on the software, Musk followed up:
“I strongly believe that all managers in a technical area must be technically excellent. Managers in software must write great software or it’s like being a cavalry captain who can’t ride a horse!”
A lot of pundits from both sides of the aisle have envisioned a mass exodus of staff if the deal goes through. I don’t share that prediction. Just like leftists in the deep state didn’t leave when Donald Trump was elected president, but stayed on to sabotage the Trump administration, I think many scumbag leftists will stay on at Twitter to do everything they can to make Musk’s vision fail. That’s why I think he needs to clean house of everyone who was ever involved in censoring free speech and shadow banning users. Get rid of them. There is no upside to keeping hateful people who do not understand free speech rights and those people do not share the new owner’s vision for the platform.
In the Fortune story:
It’s still unclear how a Musk-run Twitter might impact the company’s ability to retain current staff and recruit new employees. The company presented the takeover as a potential threat to its staffing abilities in an SEC filing Monday.
But at least casual interest in open positions at the company has skyrocketed since the Tesla billionaire showed serious interest in taking over the company.
On Thursday, Daniel Zhao, a senior economist and data scientist at the job insights platform Glassdoor, tweeted that interest in job openings at the social media giant was up 263% between April 24 and April 30.
…
“Say what you will about Elon, he does have a large fanbase of ppl excited to work for him,” Zhao tweeted. “He’s much more likely to capitalize on that attraction as CEO than owner.”
One thing’s for sure. Musk’s takeover of Twitter will have no problem finding talent to come work for the company as was noted in the Fortune piece Musk tweeted about.
I have been paying much more attention to Musk since he got involved in the purchase of Twitter. He does seem to be a libertarian, which is a good thing for the town square. If the deal goes through, and I have no reason to believe it won’t, I think his plans for the platform will make it a much better place to communicate with the world and that it will be more fair to everyone than it ever has been. When he speaks of free speech, I can not agree with him more.
Godspeed, Elon.
