Joy Behar had another meltdown on Monday. She told her co-hosts of the coven on ABC’s “The View” that the San Francisco Archbishop was wrong for banning Speaker Nancy Pelosi from participating in communion over her pro-brutalizing children with abortion beliefs, but not banning Texas Governor Greg Abbott for being pro-death penalty.
Behar is trying to make it seem like there is a double standard when one doesn’t exist. Abortion kills innocent children. Even in cases of rape and incest, the baby is innocent.
The death penalty kills a murderer who went through due process of law that innocent babies are not afforded.
Behar said, “Pope Francis is not pro-choice, but he is also against capital punishment. I don’t see anybody denying, what’s his name, Abbott — Governor Abbott in Texas, who is the Catholic, and he’s executed many people. I don’t see him seeing he can’t receive communion. So the hypocrisy is in the church too. It also depends on each archdiocese. This is why Nancy could get communion in Georgetown because that particular archdiocese was ok with it. So everybody is different.”
Again, the incredibly ignorant co-host who was raised Catholic, wrongly thinks every ordained Catholic person in the church has to rigidly follow the authority of the Pope. She doesn’t know that an Archbishop has the authority to make this decision. It’s part of his domain.
Co-host Sunny Hostin, not to be outdone on the idiot scale, added “I have learned from you ladies on this show, having been here for five years, not to politicize my religion, right? So while I believe that abortion is wrong, and I believe that the catechism of the Catholic church that pro-life extends from conception through natural death. If you are a practicing Catholic, as Bill Barr is, as Greg Abbott is, then you should be pro-life from conception through natural death. The issue that I have with these politicians politicizing their religion is the hypocrisy. Because when you look at the Catholic Church and these bishops, the death penalty — you know, so this includes the death penalty, right?” Wrong.
It’s really strange how The View took the issue of Nancy Pelosi being told she cannot receive communion because of her stance on abortion and twisted it to be angry that evil people receive the death penalty.
The Archbishop is not a politician “politicizing his religion.” He is a high-ranking member of the church who used his authority to send the message that politicians should not politicize the killing of unborn babies and call themselves Catholic.
The Marxist Pope Francis in 2018 changed position on the death penalty but he did not speak with infallibility. However, also in 2018 Francis said that a Pope can be wrong.
