On Wednesday, Joy Behar, co-host on “The View” once again put her foot in her mouth by saying something really dumb. There are three things in life we can count on: death, taxes, and Joy Behar says something stupid.
The leftist panel played footage of Tuesday’s Congressional testimony from the son of a victim of the Buffalo shooting in a supermarket weeks after a teenage gunman, who was a self-described white supremacist, killed 10 people in a shooting spree.
The shooter, Payton Gendron, was a white supremacist, and he was also an anti-Semite. The misinformation news media almost immediately linked him to the Republican Party and specifically to Donald Trump. What you probably haven’t heard is that not only was Gendron not a conservative, but he was a hardcore progressive leftist. In his manifesto, Gendron called himself a left-wing “green nationalist.”
I would venture to say that most white supremacists are left wingers who must be frustrated every time they get linked to conservatives by the bozos in the media.
The co-hosts complained that Republicans oppose strict gun control laws and the domestic terrorism bill, which intended to create domestic terrorism offices in three federal agencies. They will do next to nothing to stop criminals committing violent acts using guns, but they will work to disarm law-abiding gun owners.
Behar claimed the Republicans voted the domestic terror bill down because “those are their voters.” The guest co-host Lindsey Granger said that there are a lot of gun owners across the country who want to see new laws passed in order to create effective change.
“But let’s talk about domestic terrorism and white supremacy, which is the issue that he was talking about. Why did the Republican Party vote down that? When you talk about what happened on 911, and that was Islamic terror, that’s only 20% of the terrorism that affected this country. We upended our entire airline industry, our entire security system, and that type of threat never happened again. Seventy-five percent of the terrorism that happens here is from the political right and its white supremacy. We have done nothing to address it,” Hostin said.
Granger said that since the Buffalo shooting we have seen change because the shooter was charged with domestic terrorism. She argued that citizens need to vote for conservative or liberal candidates that will make progress in the country.
“If you want me to sit up here and speak for every single Republican in Congress, I can’t do that. I can speak for being a black woman that’s a conservative. And I know what’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong. And that is wrong, okay?” Granger said. “A man going in a grocery store and killing black people is wrong, because they’re black is wrong.”
And what would any episode of The View be without trashing the AR-15? Granger argued in favor of the right to buy the rifle for self-defense.
“There are people in this country that genuinely own guns and just do so for the same reason that we all set up…” Granger began.
“An AR-15?” Behar interjected.
Granger then mentioned the story of a black man in Connecticut who built his own AR-15 so that he could protect his family.
That’s when Behar said quite possibly the most racist thing I have ever heard on TV.
“Once black people get guns in this country, the gun laws will change, trust me,” Behar said.
Black people aren’t allowed to purchase guns? That’s a new one on me.
I remember when I was in a political group on Facebook years ago and I was arguing with liberals about gun rights. One of the leftists pointed to a news story where a group of black men armed with guns formed in the neighborhood to stand watch and protect their families from criminals and the woman said to me that I was probably frightened by that, showing her racism to even think like that. That’s because people on the Left live by thinking about race in almost every circumstance that comes up while people on the Right do not. The only time conservatives think about race is when the Left forces them to by making stupid racial statements on TV. I was stunned when she made that remark, because that was the furthest thing on my mind. I can’t understand how people can think that way.
Joy Behar let her racism slip out publicly on television by saying that when black people get guns, the laws will change. Her point was that Republicans are against gun control laws because their white voters are against them, but once black people get guns, white people would be afraid of them, and then tell the Republicans to create gun control laws.
It’s funny how Behar wants you to believe that conservatives don’t want black people to have guns, but the only people pushing for gun control is the Left.
Joy Behar thinks black people with guns are scary and so she projected that onto Republican members of Congress who know that the gun control bills the Democrats are putting up will do nothing to stop gun violence, and that all they will do is infringe on the rights of law-abiding gun owners, including black gun owners. The Democrats won’t even listen to alternative plans. Black Americans who are stuck in crime-infested neighborhoods would be affected most by not being able to protect themselves from criminals attempting to harm them.
I got news for Behar. Many Black Americans already own firearms that they use to protect themselves and their families. How messed up is it to say that Republicans will only vote for gun control when black people get guns?
If you were to go back through our history, many things that were not illegal were made so by Democrats once black Americans started doing it. Democrats created Southern Black Codes, Jim Crow laws, and in 1994, Senator Joe Biden wrote a crime bill that Democrat President Bill Clinton signed that put black men in prison for life over drug offenses. I’m not talking about drug dealers either. Democrats who rule urban cities make it almost impossible for black people to start a business. It’s almost as if they don’t want them to feel the American dream.
In 2020, black men and woman’s gun purchases increased 58 percent according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
Joy Behar should be suspended for what she said because it’s as racist as it gets.
