It was a stunning shock to me that Democratic vice presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) repeated the Charlottesville lie during last night’s vice presidential debate. She set herself up for an easy slamming by Vice President Mike Pence, because the lie she repeated has been debunked six ways to Sunday.
We have reported on the numerous times Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden has repeated the lie that President Donald Trump referred to neo-Nazis and white nationalists as “very fine people.” He launched his 2020 campaign based on that lie. Harris said that the details of the lie were the very reason why Biden chose to run. I personally believe Biden chose to run, because he thought Hillary Clinton was going to win in 2016, and when she didn’t win, he had a “come to Jesus” moment where he realized that all of the corruption he was involved in before, during and after the 2016 election cycle, wasn’t going to be swept under the rug. I believe Biden ran to avoid prosecution for his crimes, of which there are many, because nobody would expect the Trump Department of Justice (DOJ) to go after the opposing party’s candidate during an election year.
Here’s what happened during Wednesday night’s debate after one of the many times Harris played the race card attacking the president over the Charlottesville lie.
Pence pointed out that President Trump condemned both neo-Nazis and white nationalists during his Charlottesville speech. And he was 100 percent correct denouncing the “very fine people” lie.
Finally, the Charlottesville “very fine people” hoax has been debunked on the national stage, in front of the entire world, and Biden and the Democrats have Kamala Harris to thank for it.
During the vice presidential debate at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City Harris tried to repeat the lie that President Trump failed to condemn white supremacists at the debate last week, and the lie that Trump called neo-Nazis in the 2017 Charlottesville riots “very fine people.”
Harris said: “Last week, the President of the United States took a debate stage in front of 70 million Americans and refused to condemn white supremacists.”
She then went on to twist Trump’s words about the Proud Boys, who Biden brought up during their debate, claiming Trump told them “stand down and stand by,” using terms similar to those moderator Chris Wallace had used in his question to Trump.
That’s when Harris went off on a tangent of lies about Trump calling all Mexicans rapist, which never happened, a Muslim ban, which never happened, and the Charlottesville lie.
“He called Mexicans “rapists” and “criminals.” He instituted, as his first act, a “Muslim ban.” He — on the issue of Charlottesville, where people were peacefully protesting the need for racial justice, where a young woman* was killed, and on the other side, there were neo-Nazis, carrying tiki torches, shouting racial epithets, antisemitic slurs, and Donald Trump, when asked about it, said: “There were fine people on both sides.” This is who we have as the President of the United States — and America, you deserve better. Joe Biden will be a president who brings our country together and recognizes the beauty in our diversity, and the fact that we have so much more in common than what separates us.”
Wednesday night’s moderator, Susan Page of USA Today, gave Pence a chance to respond to Harris’ lies:
“You know, I think this is one of the things that makes people dislike the media so much in this country, Susan, is that you selectively edit — just like Senator Harris did — the comments that President Trump and I and others on our side of the aisle make. I mean — Senator Harris conveniently omitted, after the president made comments about people on either side of the debate over monuments, he condemned the KKK, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists, and has done so repeatedly. You’re concerned that he “doesn’t condemn neo-Nazis”? President Trump has Jewish grandchildren! His daughter and son-in-law are Jewish. This is a president who respects and cherishes all of the American people.”

In fact, no past president or presidential candidate has condemned hate groups more than Donald Trump, and yet the media continues to ask him if he does. The dirty little secret is that’s a tactic left-wing news activist employ. They’re not actually asking a question, but are in fact making a declaration statement to gin up anger and hostility against Trump for being a racist, even though he’s never said nor done anything racist.
Pence was correct. Trump said during the Charlottesville speech that those hate group should be “condemned totally.” His words, not mine.
Here’s video footage of where President Trump condemned the neo-Nazis and white nationalists, the part that Pence so eloquently pointed out that CNN and Democrats edited out just so that they could claim Trump called them “very fine people.”
For liberals reading this who don’t believe their eyes and ears, click here’ to read the full transcript of Trump’s Charlottesville speech, which was published by the leftist leaning Politico website. Here’s how the condemnation went down:
REPORTER: George Washington and Robert E. Lee are not the same.
TRUMP: Oh no, George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down – excuse me. Are we going to take down, are we going to take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him? Okay, good. Are we going to take down his statue? He was a major slave owner. Are we going to take down his statue? You know what? It’s fine, you’re changing history, you’re changing culture, and you had people – and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally – but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly. Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people, but you also had troublemakers and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats – you had a lot of bad people in the other group too. [emphasis added]
Incidentally, the Fake News media like CNN and MSNBC will never show you video of then Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) referring to members of a KKK-affiliated group as having “many fine people” in their membership.
President Trump started to correct Biden when he, too, brought up the Charlottesville “very fine people” hoax at last week’s first presidential debate, however he didn’t have an opportunity to respond completely, and didn’t return to the issue later. I think that was a mistake, because the Democrats used it to further the lie that Trump never condemned hate groups.

After his reply, Pence then launched right into a criticism of Harris’s record as a prosecutor in California each as District Attorney for San Francisco and California Attorney General, pointing out that Harris’ conviction record showed a pattern of disproportionate prosecution and convictions of black Americans, and did nothing about criminal justice reform for minorities when she had the chance. President Trump did prison reform that many past presidents said they wanted to do but never came through the way the Trump administration did. When Trump signed The First Step Act he reversed much of the damage done by Senator Joe Biden’s 1994 Crime Bill that President Bill Clinton signed into law. That bill incarcerated thousands of black Americans for long prison sentences over non-violent crimes. Trump’s First Step Act gave a second chance in life for many black inmates sent to prison via the law that Biden wrote.
