Can you believe that Minnesota’s Iron Range might help deliver the battleground state’s 10 Electoral College votes to President Donald Trump? And possibly even the White House?
If Trump can turn Minnesota red by November, he could lose Michigan, Pennsylvania , and Wisconsin to Joe Biden and still get reelected if he is able to hold onto the rest of states he won in 2016, NBC News reported Tuesday.
Once a heavily Democrat region, around Lake Superior, the rural mining districts there were a Trump stronghold in 2016. That’s because the Democrats took those areas for granted, and when Democrats take something for granted, like the black vote, they ignore it, because they think it’s safe to do so. The Iron Range fuels a lot of the United States’ steel production and has benefited from the president’s trade policies. Trump has been fighting for working class Americans the way Democrats used to say they were. The party of Biden-Harris have given up on the rust belt and flyover states for the billionaires and millionaires and coastal elites, and it may cost them the November election.
The Iron Range area’s seat in the US House was one of the only ones to flip from Democratic to Republican in 2018.
The last time Minnesota went Republican was 1972 when Richard Nixon was reelected. No Republican has won the state since 2006.
The president honed in on Minnesota after he lost the state to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton four years ago by 45,000 votes , which was just 1.5 percentage points. All you have to do is imagine what would have happened to the Iron Range if Clinton would have won? They would be as depressed as the rest of that part of the country, because Clinton had no economic plan. Trump told the forgotten men and women of the country that he would fight to being their jobs back, and fight he did. And he came through for them, so there’s every bit a chance that they will come through for Trump on November 3rd. Especially knowing that Joe Biden would be a disaster for Minnesota. He would sell out to China again and all those jobs would go back overseas to survive a Biden economy.
Vice President Mike Pence visited the biggest city in the Iron Range, Duluth, to get endorsements from 6 mayors only the day after he accepted the Republican Party’s nomination.
Last week, Donald Trump Jr. campaigned in Duluth, viciously attacking Biden and defending his father after The Atlantic published a fake stay that President Trump had called fallen American soldiers “suckers” and “losers.”
Winning the Iron Range isn’t guaranteed for Trump, nevertheless. While exports of the metal increased in the first years of Trump’s presidency, the steel industry has stalled amid the Chinese virus pandemic (CV-19) resulting in layoffs and downsizing. Now, there are less mines open than when Trump first took office. But everyone knows that’s not the president’s fault, and that Trump will bring it all back if reelected. NBC News said that political experts predict cultural politics could play a big role for the president than economic factors. I believe people who were screwed over by politicians for decades vote with their wallets and pocketbooks.
The cultural and social rift between Minnesota’s rural northeast and the city south has widened in recent times, because the state’s center has trended blue.
This year, Minneapolis became the center of protests over the death of Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, igniting global rage and a national debate, which has since been taken over by the Marxist movement.
Trump characterized violent protesters as lawless looters and promised federal intervention, as critics accused him of worsening the situation with incendiary rhetoric.
Moreover, data from the U.S. Census Bureau revealed that the population of Minnesota’s Twin Cities area grew by about 9% even as the rest of the state grew by just 3%.
Biden still has a leg up on the president in national polls, however the president’s reelection campaign told NBC News that Trump’s support in Minnesota grew “organically” and that it now has about 80 staffers located there.
Biden is ready to make his first trip there on Friday, and the president will campaign in the state on the same day.

Don’t worry about PA, it’s going Trump more than the last election. Rural PA, is pissed at Governor Wolf, and the Democrat Demons. The cities are sick of riots, and the black voters are switching sides. I would not be surprised at all if Pittsburg voted Trump. But Trump can’t forget us, and he hasn’t. He needs to head to Pittsburg and Bethlehem. It’s low hanging fruit for the President. Harrisburg, is also on the table. Philly is still a stronghold for the Dems, but he can move some votes as well.
