Senator Mitt Romney (RINO-UT) joined the Democrats on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee by voting to keep the federal mask mandate going for school students all the way down to the tender age of two years old.
The failed presidential candidate voted against America’s children by not voting to get rid of the mask and vaccine mandates in the federal Head Start program during a committee hearing on the PREVENT Pandemics Act.

According to a press release, the PREVENT Pandemics Act takes “common-sense steps to act on lessons learned from the pandemic response.”
You can’t “prevent” pandemics. They happen and no amount of human intervention can stop them, especially when they are leaked by a lab doing gain of function research.
A real Republican, Senator Mike Braun (R-IN), proposed an amendment to the bill that would have prevented the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from “implementing or enforcing their regulations regarding mask or vaccination protections in the Head Start program again.”
We know several things that by now most American should accept as facts regardless of the political spin by the Biden administration:
- Children are not really affected by the COVID-19 virus. Even if they do catch it, for them, it’s like a mild case of the sniffles.
- Omicron, the current variant, is a weakened version of the virus.
- The typical type of masks worn by Americans (cloth) do not prevent the spread of the virus according to several studies and the top epidemiologists in the world regardless of the political science.
- The vaccines do not work the way we were told they would. While they might help a person not to be hospitalized with COVID, they don’t work for very long as the efficacy wanes over time, and they don’t prevent a vaccinated person from catching COVID. Medical experts have said this.
According to HHS, Head Start requires “universal masking for all individuals two years of age and older” for children involved in the program.
The senator from Indiana said, “After being subjected to federal mask mandates for almost two years, President Biden announced in his State of the Union address under the CDC’s new mask guidelines, most Americans in most of the country can now be mask-free. I completely agree with him on that. It’s time to get our lives back, especially based upon science and not the political science.”
Two other RINO Republican Senators, Susan Collins (RINO-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (RINO-AK), supported Braun’s proposed amendment, but it failed in the end. Romney was the only so-called Republican, on the HELP committee, who voted against America’s children to lift the mask mandates for young children.
“The rest of America is insulted by you telling them that their kids who are not at risk from dying from this disease, are not spreading it, that somehow we’re going to force these kids to keep wearing masks. It’s unscientific, it’s inhumane, and it stunting their learning.”
The voters in Utah need to replace Mitt Romney by the time his first term is up in 2025. He has shown to be an emotional basket case who many times has not supported Republican values, this vote being one of them. Republicans support America’s children by being against psychological and emotional harm. On this vote, Romney did the exact opposite. It almost seems like the senator sometimes votes with Democrats to be liked by them or to be perceived as some sort of statesman by going against his party’s values, which in my opinion, especially after the last two years, are the right values for America when comparing Republicans and Democrats.
