Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of the US Representative, is throwing out accusations that the Trump administration is utilizing federal police to “kidnap” protesters in Portland. She is trying to compare the arrests being made to “banana republic” tactics.
“Last month, the Administration tear-gassed peaceful protesters in Washington, D.C.,” she wrote in a joint statement Saturday with Oregon Representative Earl Blumenauer (D).
Here’s Park Service video of the “peaceful protesters” before the park was cleared out.
“Now, videos show them kidnapping protesters in unmarked cars in Portland – all with the goal of inflaming tensions for their own gain,” the statement said.
Don’t forget, this is the woman, who as Speaker, tore up the president’s State of the Union address speech right behind his back and on camera facing the House audience.
A commonly-used police tactic is to remove the leaders of violent actions from the violent situation. It helps police quell the unrest, and less people get hurt. Pelosi is just being political as usual. We’re not talking about peaceful protesters here. These are people who are acting violently in a civil society. It is the duty of elected officials to protect their citizens, and Democrats time and again have failed to do so. It’s alternate universe time.
A week and a half ago Pelosi said of the toppling of a Christopher Columbus statue in her home town of Baltimore, “People will do what they do.” So, toppling statues is perfectly fine, but a police action to save lives and property is considered a crime by this malcontent of a Speaker.
“While Portland is the President’s current target, any city could be next,” the statement added.
This drunken dingbat wants you to believe that the Trump administration is just willy nilly going around snatching up innocent people, including peaceful protesters, when nothing of the sort is happening.
President Trump has vowed to protect federal property, including buildings, statues, and monuments. He has deployed federal officers to stand guard in Portland and other cities.
Try to remember that the president offered help to quell the burning and destruction of blue cities, and most of them turned him down. He didn’t send troops without a request from local authorities. That is Constitutional. At the same time, the president has the authority to move in to protect federal property, and that’s what these cretin Democrats are griping about.
On Friday, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler jumped on the bandwagon with other state officials to demand Trump remove the agents, even though they know that he has the authority to use them to protect federal property.
There is a fascinating thing going on here. For the last 100 years Democrats have pushed the idea that the federal government has the authority to do anything it wants, and that the states and local jurisdictions have to service it. That is completely backwards to the Constitutional framework setup by the Founding Fathers, but that’s what Democrats have argued all this time. In fact, that false narrative has been so ingrained into people, that most Americans don’t realize that Constitutionally, the Congress does not have the power to pass any old law it wants. But, now that Donald Trump is president, and he is exercising is Article II powers accordingly, the Democrats have finally come around to argue for states rights. It’s
Can you imagine that Democrats are giving the federal government hell over trying to protect federal property, which they themselves have clearly failed to do?
He reportedly referred to the agents as the president’s “personal army” claiming it is only escalating tensions.
On Saturday, the acting head of Customer and Border Protection, Mark Morgan, called the accusation “outrageous.”
“It’s just outrageous and it’s reckless,” Morgan said. “The argument that the mere presence of federal officers and agents causes violence, that is outrageous and it’s ridiculous, and I believe that most American people do not believe that.”
Folks, all of this nonsense has been intentionally crafted by the Democrats and the Marxists for years now. Blue cities and states wouldn’t be on fire today if Democrat leaders had followed their oaths and protected the American people.
Pelosi and Blumenauer said they have been “moving swiftly” to stop the agents in Portland but didn’t elaborate on what actions they were taking.
“We live in a democracy, not a banana republic,” they said. “We will not tolerate the use of Oregonians, Washingtonians – or any other Americans – as props in President Trump’s political games.”
I wish someone would tell liberals that we do not live in a democracy. We live in a constitutional republic. Thank God we’re not a democracy, because as our Founders understood, a democracy protects the majority and care nothing about the minority, while a republic, backed by Constitutional law, protects everyone. There are three people, and two of them voted that they get to keep everything the third guy owns. That’s democracy in action.
“The House is dedicated to moving swiftly to curb these egregious abuses of power immediately.”
Democrats are such a disgrace. They are giving the administration more grief than the people who are destroying their own cities.
