Lancaster officials are investigating an incident where a man was shot and killed by police on Sunday afternoon in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. An officer shot a man who was lunging at him with a knife, police said.
An officer with the Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to a call of domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Laurel Street at 4:15 pm, when 27-year-old Ricardo Munoz rushed out the door of the house with a large knife, according to bodycam footage released by the police department.
The police department put out a statement that the person who called 911 told a dispatcher that her brother, Munoz, was acting aggressively toward his mother and was trying to break into her home.
The bodycam footage clearly shows a woman leaving the house as Munoz is heard shouting at someone from the inside. Munoz then bursts out of the house while wielding a knife, and the officer is heard and seen firing his weapon. That’s when Munoz dropped to the ground.

After the shooting incident, crowds formed in protest in front of a police station. Some people attacked a police cruiser while some others threw bricks. Police never get the benefit of the doubt with these people.
Apparently the bodycam footage doesn’t matter, because Black Lives Matter (BLM) continued to rally the troops, even organizing so that white allies of BLM were situated in the from lines of the growing mob after the bodycam footage was released showing Munoz chasing after the officer wielding a large knife.
And, of course, you have the usual morons who think real life is like watching a movie or a cop show where the officer was supposed to subdue a maniac chasing him down with a large knife.
Does this idiot think the officer should just waved his Harry Potter wand and used the “De-escalatus” spell? What is wrong with people?
Here’s knife guy’s background. Apparently he has a history of stabbing people, at least four back in 2019, including a teenager.
Police used tear gas, pepper spray, stun grenades and rubber bullets to help disperse the crowd.
I’m wondering at what point after the incident did BLM get wind of the shooting and how did they deploy the protesters? It’s a legitimate question, because all over the country we see the protest crowds grow fast after a police shooting, and the messaging always goes out the same; that a cop shot an innocent black person.
At one point there was some infighting going on, because after the bodycam footage was released it became apparent that the shooting was justified, at least from the perspective of what happened vs do you go out and protest? It was a smart move for police to release the bodycam footage so quickly, because it obviously helped change some minds on whether or not the shooting was justified. Nobody likes it when someone is shot and killed, but people have to start recognizing that police are doing a job where they’re protecting the people they serve, but they also have to protect themselves, and when someone poses a life or death situation to you, you have the God-given right to protect yourself, even if you’re a cop.
The District Attorney’s office of Lancaster County is leading an investigation into the shooting. According to the DS’s office, the bodycam footage shows Munoz leaving the house and running toward the officer as he arrived at the home. The DA’s office will determine if the force used by police was justified, but I can’t see how they would say otherwise since the video shows the lunatic chasing after the officer with a knife.
Officials said Munoz was holding a knife above his head “in clear view” and “in a threatening manner” running after him when the officer fired. According to the DA’s office, Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene, and no one else was hit by gunfire.
“A police-involved shooting has significant impact on a community, as we are seeing with the large number of individuals gathering in the streets,” District Attorney Heather Adams said Sunday night.
“We ask that acts of protest remain peaceful as violence and destruction of property will become headlines and serve no purpose for the safety and well-being of our citizens and neighborhoods.”
Danene Sorace, the mayor of Lancaster, said in a statement that the officer has been placed on leave, which is police policy.

This is clearly a justified shooting. Why are people protesting and burning things down? It makes no sense. Black or white! You come at a Police officer, you should be shot! Plain and simple!
The BLM and Antifa types don’t care wether it was a justified shoot. A price must be exacted. They want their pound of flesh regardless.
