Republican Burgess Owens has defeated his opponent, Democrat Representative Ben McAdams, in Utah’s 4th Congressional District to gain a seat in the US House of Representatives.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting, the Salt Lake Tribune referred to Owens’ 2,095-vote lead over McAdams as “insurmountable.” The paper also recognized that Owens had 47.50% of the vote on Friday compared to McAdams’ 46.93%.
“If Owens’ lead holds as those and any remaining ballots in Utah County are counted ahead of the final canvass next week, he will be one of two new members in Utah’s six-member congressional delegation,” the Tribune stated.
A little confession. I have been a huge supporter of Burgess Owens ever since I read his book, “Liberalism or How to Turn Good Men into Whiners, Weenies and Wimps” where he starts out with his belief system. He believes a person’s worth is not measured by what he does or or by any honors bestowed upon him, or by any wealth he has accumulated, because evil people can have that. No, he measures a person’s worth by the courage they show in standing up for beliefs, by how hard they work to insure that their word is good and their actions help keep them honorable. Owens believes that our country was founded on a bedrock of eternal truths and principles, and that when these truths are applied they help build men, women and families of character with a purpose and a vision for and of the world. The new congressman believes in a higher power than government as inspired by the words of the Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights; that among them are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
Owens’ campaign focused strongly on the radical left’s “socialist policies” and on the actions of radical “Marxists.”
Back in May, Owens said that he needs to take back Utah’s Fourth Congressional seat so that he could help Republicans “take back our country.”
Owens played for the Oakland Raiders, was a Superbowl Champion, and was critical of crybaby Colin Kaepernick and the movement he started when he decided to kneel for the National Anthem when played prior to the start of a game.
“We have a responsibility as we pass the torch down to the next generation, and there is an example of someone we all respect: Kobe,” Owens told Breitbart News in February. “There is a difference in Kobe’s approach to life, and maybe some other athletes who don’t quite get it.”
He went on saying, “My generation has dropped the ball. We have allowed the socialists and Marxists to get in our school systems and teach our kids a different way than we were brought up. Kaepernick is a good example. In today’s society, our greatest enemy is socialists and Marxists who lay in wait and attack our most vulnerable. In this case, you have kids going to school fresh-eyed and excited about life and looking forward to a great future, but they come out anti-American Marxists.”
Up until Owens’ win, Utah’s 4th Congressional District was one of 30 districts that have been represented by Democrats that President Donald Trump had won in 2016.
Owens’ win marks the twelfth seat in the House of Representatives to be flipped from Democrat to Republican in the 2020 election.
Owens is a good man who is needed at this point in time, needed to show the younger generations who grew up listening to progressive (American version of a Marxist) teachers in public schools and elsewhere preaching to them that America is a dark blight on the world, without ever teaching young people about all the good our country has done for the world that outweighs the bad. Yes, like every country that ever existed, we have some dark spots in our history, but we overcame them, and the good that this country, that the American people, have done for the world far outweighs the gobbledygook garbage that is focused on and taught to our children each and every day. Voices like Burgess Owens are needed as a reminder to older folks who have bought into the concept that America is a racist country, which is what a Biden–Harris administration will shove down the throats of our kids from K through 12 if God forbid they win the election.
