At least one person was shot Sunday night inside Seattle’s autonomous protest zone (CHOP), the place where demonstrators have settled in the course of the civil unrest sparked by the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. It’s the second shooting in 48 hours.
Floyd’s death was the catalyst for the legitimate protesters, and God bless them because they have the American right to air their grievances. But the death of Mr. Floyd was not the reason the rioters and looters began doing their thing. There is a Marxist element in the streets, and they were primed to create havoc and mayhem all along to take down the United States from within. Looters are criminals who like the rioters just needed a “justification” to start.
Dispatch logs place the emergency response at Harvard Avenue and East Pine Street, with the first reports at about 10:42 p.m., though it wasn’t unclear where exactly the shooting happened.
The Seattle Police Department said in a tweet at 11:26 p.m. that one individual had suffered a gunshot wound while inside the area and that a second shooting may have taken place.
“Police investigating reported shooting inside CHOP zone. One person at HMC with a gunshot wound. Hearing reports of a second shooting, but have not been able to verify at this time. Conflicting reports will update with more information when available.”

The “CHOP zone” refers back to the so-called Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone, which they claim was initially created as a space for nonviolent demonstration but has devolved into violence for a second straight night. So, we’re to believe that nonviolent protesters were allowed to simply take over land that didn’t belong to them, and we are to call it nonviolent protests? How exactly does that work?
A 19-year-old man was killed and a 33-year-old man was injured on Saturday after a shooting happened inside the zone. That shooting remains under investigation, and at this time no arrests have yet been made.
Officers responding to the shooting said that they had trouble making it to the scene as a result of they “were met by a violent crowd that prevented officers safe passage to the victims.”

Last week Seattle Police said that they would only enter the zone for “significant life-safety issues.”
