Despite a leak that came out last week claiming that US Attorney John Durham’s investigation into how the Spygate operation to spy on the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election originated was being shut down with no indictments over fear of retaliation from a possible Biden administration, the investigation is still “full steam ahead” according to a source familiar with the investigation.
“Durham remains full steam ahead,” the source said.
Another source said the investigation “is definitely still happening,” despite not a peep coming from the US attorney who was appointed to conduct the investigation by Attorney General Bill Barr.
So far there has only been one guilty plea from former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith who altered an email to make it appear that there was Russian collusion with a former Trump campaign aide. His conduct was laid before us in the Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General report that came out last December.
And once Clinesmith plead guilty, the Durham investigation team went dark. Two sources familiar with the case said that over the summer Durham had not completed several areas of investigation, and that he believed they were “critical” to the investigation.
Word went out that Durham was feeling political pressure to get the investigation wrapped up before end of summer, which means, before the election, and that Durham didn’t want the investigation and the work that they did to be viewed as “political,” so we would likely “punt it to after the election,” and that’s exactly what he did.
Durham’s appointment came not long after Special Counsel Robert Mueller shut down his phony Russia collusion delusion hoax investigation that found zero evidence of collusion, which is not a crime, or any criminal conspiracy.
John Ratcliffe, the Director of National Intelligence said be thinks there “will be” more indictments handed down from Durham’s investigation based on intelligence reports he has a security clearance to see.
“I think there will be more indictments,” Ratcliffe said last month. “Based on the intelligence I have access to, I certainly believe there should be.”
The DNI revealed that he already provided 1,000 pages of material to the DOJ to support Durham’s investigation.
“At my direction, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has now provided almost 1,000 pages of materials to the Department of Justice in response to Mr. Durham’s document requests,” Ratcliffe said in a statement Wednesday. “I will continue to ensure the Intelligence Community’s responsiveness to the DOJ’s requests.”
Ratcliffe added that people at ODNI “look forward to supporting the DOJ in further declassifications consistent with their investigation.”
“As the president has made clear, we must be appropriately transparent with the American people and give them the confidence that the extraordinary work of Intelligence professionals is never misused or politicized,” Ratcliffe said.
I believe the source of the so-called leak that came out last week was a ruse to demoralize Trump supporters and other Americans who feel that a grave injustice was done to Donald Trump and the Trump campaign and administration that did not allow them to have a single moment of a peaceful transition. Trump had tweeted that Durham already had enough information to bring down indictments for many people involved in the first attempted government coup in our nation’s history.
When Donald Trump said that he was going to “drain the swamp” a lot of people didn’t count on the swamp fighting back. We are talking about tens of thousands of people who work in the federal government’s deep state against one man that they hate, because he has threatened their livelihoods. And they threw everything they could at him from the day he was elected all the way through to today when they tried to steal a landslide election away from him. But Donald Trump is the comeback kid, and he has survived more intentional bogus attacks on him than any past president in history, and he will survive this, of that I’m sure.
