On Monday, it was reported that the St. Louis couple who brandished their legally-owned firearms as Black Lives Matter protesters broke through a locked gate, illegally entering their property, and gathering outside their home, will make an appearance at the Republican National Convention next week.
It is anticipated that attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey will share their support for President Donald Trump during the virtual week-long event, party officials told the Washington Post. The Second Amendment matters, and the McCloskeys understand that first hand.
The couple was thrust into the national spotlight back in June after they were filmed pointing a handgun and an AK-47 at protesters who broke the law by breaking and entering by breaking through a locked gate, then moving through their neighborhood which was private property. From that moment on they were no longer peaceful protesters. You don’t get to break into private property when you protest.
The McCloskeys explained their actions by pointing out that they feared the mob was going to kill them and burn their house down. After watching how Democrat mayors and governors allowed riots to escalate in their jurisdictions all across the country, there was no reason for the McCloskeys to believe that they were not on their own, as anyone with a brain would understand that the lawbreakers in the mob were there to harm them and/or their property. Why else would they break the law by crashing through a locked gate and entering what they clearly knew was private property?
The couple was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon over the incident, and that caught President Trump’s attention. The rogue, George Soros-funded radical progressive Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner was stopped by Missouri’s Attorney General Eric Schmitt who dropped the charges, because what the McCloskeys did was exactly why we have a Second Amendment, saying what Gardner did was “a chilling effect on Missourians’ exercising the right to self-defense.”
