An online petition to rename the city of Columbus, Ohio to “Favortown” has received tens of thousands of signatures. The idea is to erase any connection to Christopher Columbus, and as an alternative, to honor hometown hero chef Guy Fieri. No, this is not a joke.
There are as of today over 895,000 people living in Columbus, and I would really love to know how many of the thousands of people who signed the petition actually live there.
This is all part of the Marxist’s plan to fundamentally change America. First, they get rid of all American icons, because recognizable icons like statues and monikers, signs, named buildings, etc. remind people of the Founding of our country and what the United States stands for. They represent our unique history.
So, according to historical events, the Marxists first erase history, then laws and public norms, and then they begin erasing people in one form or another.
CNN noted that “Fieri’s use of Flavortown on his various shows on The Food Network has become his signature catchphrase.”
They launched the petition last week on Change.org by Tyler Woodbridge, who argues:
Columbus is an amazing city, but one whose name is tarnished by the very name itself. Its namesake, Christopher Columbus, is in The Bad Place because of all his raping, slave trading, and genocide. That’s not exactly a proud legacy.
Why not rename the city Flavortown? The new name is twofold. For one, it honors Central Ohio’s proud heritage as a culinary crossroads and one of the nation’s largest test markets for the food industry. Secondly, cheflebrity Guy Fieri was born in Columbus, so naming the city in honor of him (he’s such a good dude, really) would be superior to its current nomenclature.
Woodbridge, who grew up in Columbus but doesn’t live there now, praised Fieri’s charitable work.
“That kind of optimism and charitable work embodies more of what Columbus, Ohio, is about rather than the tarnished legacy of Christopher Columbus,” Woodbridge said.
By Monday night, almost 35,000 people signed on to Woodbridge’s initiative, after Bud Light gave the effort a boost by promising on Twitter, “Bud Light Seltzer for all of Flavortown if this happens.”

WCMH-TV reported that on Thursday, Columbus “Mayor Andrew Ginther (D) ordered the Christopher Columbus statue in front of City Hall to be removed and placed in storage.”
There’s no news yet on whether or not the city council will take the initiative seriously enough to actually rename the city, and Fieri hasn’t yet publicly commented on the petition.
Statues of Christopher Columbus have been a topic of rage for leftists for quite some time now, but as of late they’ve been tightly focused on by the mob rioters because it’s an easy target for them. And it’s not just Columbus statues or Confederate statues, but statues of our Founding Fathers as well.
It’s not just about leftists airing grievances on things that insult them. There’s a much darker thing going on here. They’re even attacking Abraham Lincoln statues, so it’s not just about getting rid of monikers of former slave owners, because, though Lincoln freed the slaves, his existence also contrasts the Democratic Party to the Republican Party, and all the darkness and pain caused by the former that was removed by the latter.
