Thursday morning, a Texas state senator ended a 15-hour filibuster that was the Democrats’ latest insurrectionist act over a Republican election integrity bill that passed only minutes after the Democrat slithered off the floor.
A little after 6 pm Wednesday evening Democrat Carol Alvarado started speaking even though she acknowledged that her filibuster would not stop the legislation from being passed. She was required by the rules to remain standing and speaking. She was also prohibited from taking bathroom breaks and she wore running shoes on the Senate floor I guess to emulate former Texas lawmaker Wendy Davis did in 2013 when she filibustered a an anti-abortion bill.
“What’s wrong with drive-through voting during a pandemic? What’s wrong with 24-hour voting? Why can’t we have expanded voting hours for the people who have to work late? Where is all the so-called fraud?” Alvarado said as her filibuster was coming to a close. “Where does it end?”
It ends only when Democrats are completely blocked from cheating in elections. Everything she mentioned could be abused by unscrupulous people who have to cheat to win elections. There is no provision in the US Constitution or the Texas Constitution that says the legislature cannot create election integrity laws unless there is proof of fraud. Besides, 2020 was all the proof we need. Many cheating methods done by Democrats for decades were uncovered. It’s just that the mainstream news media doesn’t want to talk about it so they can continue to claim there’s no evidence.
She hugged her loser colleagues after laying down the microphone. Only minutes later, the bill passed 18-11 in the Senate. You would think that would be the end of it and you would be wrong.
Now, the bill is stalled yet again because the Texas House Democrats continue to be away from the state House breaking Texas law in a mission that has now hit the 33 day mark.
On Tuesday, the Texas House Speaker signed 52 arrest warrants for the absent Democrats for breaking the law by holding up the business of government by cowardly running away. It is against the law in Texas for lawmakers to stay away from their jobs to affect a quorum.
Alvarado started her filibuster just hours after the Texas House delivered the civil arrest warrants.
If the Republicans had pulled a stunt like this the mainstream media would not have praised them as heroes the way they have the Democrats.
It’s amazing that at first the cowardly Democrats who ran away to DC said that they were doing it to help the Democrats in the nation’s capital and the filibuster. So they were using a filibuster in Texas to end the filibuster in EU S Senate. Does that make any sense at all?
Once the sergeants-at-arms was done delivering copies of the arrest warrants to Democrat lawmaker’s offices and asking the staff to let their bosses know they should quit being cowards and return to their jobs, it became apparent that the clowns were not going to end their political stunt anytime soon.
The Texas legislature finds itself four members shy of reaching a quorum of 100 members present to conduct government business. I would argue that the rules of the quorum were not created to be abused by a party that doesn’t get its way. The quorum rule was created so that one party couldn’t sneak in and vote on something without the other party being present. Since the cowardice Democrats who fled know that the House Republicans are set to pass an election integrity bill, then the spirit of the quorum rule is satisfied. No one is sneaking behind anyone’s back here. The members physically being there is not the point of the quorum rule. It’s to let all members know what is happening, and the runaway Democrats know. For this reason, I believe the quorum rule should be declared satisfied.
“I don’t worry about things I can’t control,” said state Rep. Erin Zwiener, one of the Democrats who was served with a warrant and has refused to return to the Capitol. “Nothing about these warrants are a surprise, and they don’t necessarily affect my plans.” What a scumbag.
Now a bunch of nonsense show theater is going on. The NAACP intervened on behalf of the lawless Democrats, asking the Justice Department to investigate if issuing arrest warrants is a federal crime. Now we know that the Texas NAACP sides with lawbreakers.
Not attending legislative sessions is a clear violation of House rules. It is not a criminal offense, but a civil offense. This makes the power of the warrants unclear. So Democrats can violate House rules with no penalties for breaking them? Then they are not rules but suggestions.
As of Wednesday, it was not clear how many of the cowards are still in Washington, where they tried to push President Joe Biden and other Democrats there to violate the US Constitution by passing the Democrat’s “For the People Act” that among other unconstitutional things things eliminates elections laws for all 50 states and supersedes them with federal election laws. Article I, Section 4 of the US Constitutional, says that state legislatures have the power to create election laws, not the federal government. The Democrats want to do this so that it ensures they never lose another election, because the bill is loaded with things that make election cheating legal for the Democrats.
Looking at this whole situation, there is no other way to say it than the Democrats are evil people.
